Trump calls Kavanaugh allegations a 'hoax set up by the Democrats'

President Trump said Monday that he expects a lot of Democratic voters to support Republican candidates in the upcoming midterms because of how the party's lawmakers handled sexual misconduct allegations against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

"The main base of the Democrats have shifted so far left that we’ll end up being Venezuela. This country would end up being Venezuela. I think a lot of Democrats are going to be voting voting Republican on Nov. 6," Trump told reporters at the White House before departing for a law enforcement event in Florida.

The president seized on the specter raised by some liberals of impeaching Kavanaugh, who was confirmed to the Supreme Court on Saturday after being accused by three women of sexual misconduct and facing questions from Democrats about his judicial temperament.

Trump dismissed the allegations against Kavanaugh — including that he sexually assaulted Christine Blasey Ford when the two were in high school — as "a hoax that was set up by the Democrats."

He later blasted allegations from Julie Swetnick that Kavanaugh was present at parties where high school boys got girls drunk so they could be "gang raped," calling them "made up," "fabricated and "a disgrace."

"And now they wan to impeach him," Trump said. "I think it’s an insult to the American public. I think you’re going to see a lot of things happen on Nov. 6 that would not have happened before."

President Trump claims that the sexual assault allegations against Brett Kavanaugh were "all made up".

— CNN Politics (@CNNPolitics) October 8, 2018 Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), the ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, said last week on the eve of Kavanaugh's confirmation that Democrats would investigate the sexual misconduct allegations against the judge if the party reclaimed the majority in the House.

Nadler did not comment on the possibility of impeaching Kavanaugh, and other Democratic lawmakers have refrained from discussing that prospect, or indicated they have no intention to pursue it in the near future.

Sen. Chris Coons (D-Dele.), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, called impeachment discussions "premature," while House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said it "would not be my plan" to impeach the Justice.

The Senate confirmed Kavanaugh on Saturday afternoon in a 50-48 vote, with one GOP senator absent and another voting "present." Every Democrat opposed Kavanaugh's nomination except for Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.).

Hundreds of anti-Kavanaugh protesters descended on the Capitol in the days leading up to the confirmation vote, with some activists confronting lawmakers and urging them to oppose the justice’s nomination.

Democrats have expressed optimism that the furor over Kavanaugh’s confirmation will translate to high turnout in November.

In the aftermath of the vote, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) suggested the outpouring of opposition to Kavanaugh would serve to rally GOP voters heading into the final month of the midterm campaign.

President Trump has drawn the line in our political sand and thrown his gauntlet down.

Trump plays Grandmaster-level political chess. The Democrats and RINO’s play political tic-tac-toe. :-)

Fake news, splitting hairs with the phrase “near future”. Several Democrat lawmakers have indeed not refrained from discussing the prospect. Does the near future last until 11/6?

And, to cap off her innocence, to portray what a tender, virginal, fresh, poor little thing she really is, she maintains she did not even know how to contact her senator, or in other words, type in her name on a google search.

She has a PhD.

They got that right, but I don't think thy realize that most of the additional votes will be going to the republicans.

I think she was in the mode of denying knowledge of anything in case it was somehow a trap. And when she denied knowledge of things like therapy and lie detector tests, it raised red flags.

This catch of that brief moment the true Christine Blasey Ford was revealed, not the pretty pose, widdle girl that can't remember..

Clear eyed glint of a masterful con artist or intel field officer.

It’ll never happen, but I’d like to see an investigation into the entire role that retired FBI Special Agent Monica McLean had in the Ford accusal.

Ford might have gotten away with her charade had not Feinstein and her leftist goons gone public with her letter using it as a bombshell to take down Kavanaugh at the last minute. The left did not count on Kavanaugh having the backbone to publically expose their slander and smear and to finally galvanize the GOP.

Ford’s carefully rehearsed presentation before the committee also backfired. Her fabricated fear of flying was used to gain time to stage her appearance, conduct a phony polygraph test and gin up the media and Soros paid stooges to protest. I found her performance pathetic....the baby doll voice, the tousled hair and nerd glasses hardly gave one the impression of a PhD professor. Imagine sitting in her classes listening to that baby doll voice. Her story also was full of holes and even the much vaunted FBI investigation that was supposed to damn Kavanaugh turned up nothing. Ford was a willing tool of the left and will likely get a big pay off through a phony book deal and eternal sainthood in the pantheon of leftists victims.

Only ACCUSED, and not really by three.

Rule of law says innocent until proved guilty.

I plan on asking any libs I meet if they believe in that principle, and if they expect him to judge by that standard. Then ask them why he should not be judged by the same standard they expect him to use.
