Mock outrage or not, this is horrific.

Regardless of how she identifies, she’s a freaking human being that deserves to be protected. She deserves the fidelity of approach from peers and faculty simply because she’s a person.

The faculty should have debated this before the drill even began. In the event of an actual emergency, where is this girl supposed to go?

At some point, and it should be FAR before this, human decency needs to trump social policy and politics. We need to get a grip people.

Were this my child, I’d be bringing suit today. Flame if you want, I’m not apologizing for my opinion or my view on this.

human decency would be for all the adults at this school to stop playing their sex games with these innocent children.

The reason for a drill is to discover problems and address them. BTW you said “girl” but it is a boy who identifies as female. I do agree that the child needs to be protected.

I agree. And the stupidity that would even lead to such a situation is incredible. If you were actually considering what to do in an active shooter situation the last thing you should do is waste time separating boys from girls. If the nearest defensible room is the girls locker room, then everybody runs in there - pronto - and the area is secured and defended. Same with the boys locker room.

If, by chance, some students were changing at the moment of the attack, then there might be some temporary embarrassment. The same way that there might be embarrassment if there was a sudden fire in the locker room and students had to run out of it to save their lives.

For purposes of the drill the school should have made sure that the intended locker room was clear of changing students, but nobody should be practicing something as stupid as sorting out the boys and the girls before running to cover.

Who knows, maybe next time they will line up in alphabetical order before running for cover.

What they should be doing is having the students run into and barricade themselves in the nearest defensible space while selected teachers break open the armory cabinet and retrieve their heavy weaponry and plate carriers. (They should already have their pistols in a concealed holster.)

It’s not a “she” or a “girl.”

See ... it's hard to have a discussion when your premise is wrong from the beginning ...

This is not a girl. This is not a "she". This is a mentally-disturbed boy.

That being said, he should have moved to the boys' locker room.

It was a drill. Part of the reasons for having drills is to identify areas here you screw up and correct them. I agree that regardless of what gender he likes to pretend to be, he’s a human being and deserves to be protected.

Calm down. The purpose of a drill is to find issues like this to fix so they don’t happen again. The fact is that the school was trying hard to accommodate this child. If you have any complaints, take it up with the parents that caused his/her mental illness.

This deranged individual is male, and should have taken shelter in the boys' locker room. And he should not be allowed to run around in school pretending to be a girl and causing confusion.

We must quit pandering to the delusions of lunatics.
