I think it’s that, but it’s also a reward for Kavanaugh for staying the very rough course.
I am in sympathy with many of the comments on this thread. It’s not time to celebrate the good news. It’s time to push their noses into the mud and crush them while they are down. They will counterattack, depend on it, and for them this is a fight to the death.
Regular Americans are recoiling at the shocking spectacle and Democrat support is plummeting.

Exactly. They need to get polls somewhat within reality to avoid discredit. In early polling pollsters typically show Dems blowing Republicans away with 20 to 40 point leads to hopefully excite emotion driven Rats, and to kill Republican enthusiasm.

It’s the consequence of living in a bubble chamber. I have some leftist friends (not close friends but people I stay in touch with) and I mentioned to one of them yesterday that if they really wanted to defeat Kavanaugh they should have concentrated on the issues, especially the issue of having a court that will lean too far right (in their opinions) and they shouldn’t have engaged in the smear tactics that so obviously back-fired and didn’t work.
My friend was so shocked she could barely speak. What smear tactics? What smear tactics? What smear tactics?
I disengaged, not seeing any point in arguing with fanatics... because that’s what they all are now, fanatics. Fanatics so far divorced from the truth that they can’t even see what harm they are doing to their chances for elections in November (keeping voter fraud in mind, as always).
