Despite her personal views, she articulated the Trump policy very well. I don’t know who will step into the role next, but I liked the way she handled it.
My impression of her was that she was a dedicated employee, saying with conviction things that she didn’t necessarily believe herself. That impression would be consistent with her eventually getting fed up and leaving. If that’s the case, I imagine she’ll eventually start to criticize the very things that she championed in the UN.
Since she’s already been through a confirmation process, I wonder if there’s another position that will be opening up that she can be placed into directly?
Nikki is a globalist free trader at heart. I too was shocked at her strong defense of America in the UN.
Why? Legal problems (graft)? Policy differences with Trunp (Kavanaugh?) Better offer($$$)?
Only two people know.
agreed, I liked her work at the UN and could see her in the Oval Office in years to come.
Haley did well at the United Nations. Not an easy assignment.
As usual, the NYT misunderstood and misstated the relationship between Donald Trump and one of the formerly unenthuasiatic members of the Republican party conglomerate. Nikki Haley may not have gotten on board in the early days, but she became a most loyal supporter of the Trump Train before the UN, and even carried a lot of water in getting some of their hypocrisies out in the open.
It is not as if Ambassador Haley came to any great schism of opinion with President Trump, but a decision that was agreed upon to shift tactics somewhat at the UN. Whoever is sent in as her successor will build on the progress made already in, if not turning the UN around altogether and making them fly right, at least get them to not be a total drag on the entire Human race.
Coulden't agree more...we are losing both grace and logic...a rarity at the UN.
Ditto.
