As we continue to celebrate the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, it seems rather fitting that a video from a 2017 weekly presser is making the rounds. It shows House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) explaining to the assembled press what a “wrap-up smear” is and how it can be used to harm political opponents.
It reads like a template for the base and unfounded attacks on Justice Kavanaugh during—and after—his confirmation hearings.
Pelosi: They [Republicans] don’t want them [voters] to see that contrast, so they focus on something else. It’s a diversionary tactic. It’s a self-fulfilling prophesy, you demonize and then [trails off]. We call it the wrap-up smear. . . . You smear somebody with falsehoods and all the rest and then you merchandise it.
And then you [speaking to the press] write it, and they’ll say, see it’s reported in the press . . . so they have that validation that the press reported the smear, and then it’s called the ‘wrap-up smear.’ And now I’m going to merchandize the press’s report on the smear that we made. [Shrugging and smirking] It’s a tactic. And it’s, it’s self-evident.

Whew! At least her definition of ‘Wrap Up Smear’ is not
gynecological in any way. With Dems of today, one never knows what to expect.
I just assumed she was accusing our side of this, though their side does it ad infinitum.
These people have no concept of what our nation is truly all about.
It’s about fair play, personal rights and liberties. It’s about innocent until proven guilty.
The Leftists are such frauds. Think about it. They want felons to be released, so they can have a life.
Then you take a guy found guilty of nothing, and they want them to pay for the rest of their life.
They are constantly engaged in extreme conflicts.
Pelosi stands for things our nation NEVER did.

Isn’t it great though, to have to remain vigilant but to NOT have to win the presidency or congress back?
People here get so mad at the silliness of dems and I don’t blame them.
But at the end of the day, go to sleep with a smile.
We are defending territory already won, i.e., the presidency, congress, SCOTUS now.
We are finally not fighting to gain brutally difficult to attain territory. :)

With the full court press the media, education, and Democrats have launched, we still win elections.
They get a few wing-nut protesters to act out, and city councils and university leaderships melt. Were these protesters the majority? I don’t think so.

I get it! Just like leaking the Steele Dossier to the press, then using the press reports as if they were independent confirmation of the same dossier when submitting the FISA application.
Wrap-up smear! Now we have a name for it. Now we can “merchandise” that!
