Some random thoughts:

Demoralization:
The original Peace Corp was supposed to recruit leaders thinkers and doers, but one of the first things Bill Moyers’ Peace Corp did was eliminate those very people in favor of followers - those who would do as they were told. One result of this : Micronesian saw the sort of people being sent by the Corp, were bitterly disappointed, and became an independent nation.

Demoralization:
The Killing of Project Orion, the Killing of Apollo, the Killing of the Space Shuttle ... all these gave Hope to millions. Lost, gone more than 45 years.

Destabilization:
As a further result the entirety of the Pacific Island Trust Territories became destabilized for many years, and was only quieted by independent movements in the Island Groups and by the gifting of free stuff (such that beaches were lined with boxes of stoves refrigerators and the like on Island that have no or very limited electricity).

Crisis:
This is the stage we seem to be entering now with the repeated calls for violence and actual violence by the Left.

National Effort to educate people in the spirit of real patriotism:

Normalization:
What happens when Democrats gain control of the House, Senate, and Presidency. Gaining the House or Senate in the Fall Elections of 2018 will put America on the quick path to becoming a full Marxist nation. It will only be a mater of a decade or less until the USA becomes the USSA.
