If you are a Democrat and a Trump hater, I’m going to tell you something that will absolutely terrify you.

And that is: After putting two conservatives on the Supreme Court in 20 months—Neil Gorsuch and now Brett Kavanaugh—President Trump could easily get one, perhaps even two more chances to make his mark on this third branch of the federal government, even if he serves just one term in office....

There’s been some talk of Clarence Thomas retiring so as to give Trump another appointment. While I’d hate to see him go, he deserves to have a wonderful retirement. And we do need another YOUNG conservative to hold his seat.

Asked on “Fox News Sunday” if the same logic would apply in 2020, McConnell said “we’ll see if there is a vacancy in 2020.”

The Kentucky senator then said that the tradition in the Senate since 1880 has been that a vacancy is not filled by a president in an election year — if the Senate is controlled by the opposing party.

Just another reason of many to vote in the midterm election, come hell or high water.
