---yep---the several "controversial website" references were why I would have included the barf alert--
-as you no doubt know , if you go to the "controversial" website, the first thing that pops up is the page of instructions on following all applicable law---

I sure don't see Armslist.com as controversial. They are right up front about following laws. I regularly use them for personal transactions, only a few of which are guns. Buying and selling requires some commonsense steps, a bit of due diligence to reasonably ensure that I am selling to someone legally authorized to buy the gun.
While I think some readers of that article would like to make this an issue about private sales, I think the obvious and real target is ATF involvement and failure.
