The Syrian Kurds are not the same as the Iraq Kurds.
The danger in Nilneveh comes from the Shia (Iranian) element of Kurds in Iraq. The Christians were almost totally removed from the Nineveh plains by ISIS. Many have stayed away. Games are being played (great danger) with those who return.
There are differences Among Syriac Christians. Chaldean and Syriac have some overlaps. Some were/are allied to Baghdad others were/are allied with Erbil. Causes problems.
