Why did the ‘pubs wimp out after one week? I thought they were disgusted enough after the Kavanaugh hearing mob scenes and threats to their lives to keep piling it on.

Just how many more vacancies remain to be filled?

They didn’t wimp out. If the democrats insisted on 30 hours of debate for each nominee up to the election, this same number would have been confirmed. And the democrats wanted to go home to campaign.

So McConnell says, hey let’s confirm these without your usual games. He had them in a vise. The result: 15 confirmations in like two hours.

Wow!! That is so terrific to know, and so unpublicized in the media. The takeaway? DC 'pubs and dems can work together when there's something REALLY important at stake, their vacations.

It’s a lot better than 10% in some ways... The top picks are the hardest work, and he’s done that heavy lifting: 22% of the Supreme Court, and about 23% of the District Courts of Appeals.

Appreciate your keeping tabs on this...Trump is doing so much more than we could have hoped for and diluting the 9th Circus is just one of them - it might give DiFi an embolism....

“I wonder what percentage of the Judiciary was appointed by OBOZO?!?”

Just ran those numbers. Obama confirmed 38% of the judiciary, over eight years, most of them district judges.

2 Supreme Court

55 Circuit court

268 District Court

Trump has Obama tied with Supreme Court nominees, and is over halfway to his Circuit Court number (in only two years).

The previous president appointed 37.5% of the federal judiciary (325 judges: 2 Supremes, 55 Circuit Court judges, and 268 District Court judges), so Trump has a long way to go (currently at 84 judges) to get near those numbers. But 30+ Trump judges will hopefully be confirmed in the lame duck session (as stated by McConnell), which would put Trump on a faster pace.

The figures above do not include tax courts, the veterans affairs court, etc., on which there are a few dozen judges.

There are 179 Circuit Court positions and 678 District court positions in total.
