Editorial: The deadly peril of not enforcing gun laws (barf alert)
Chicago Tribune ^ | 13 oct 2018

For a long time, Thomas Caldwell behaved like a man who wanted to go to prison and wouldn’t stop until he got his way. In September, he pleaded guilty to selling guns without a federal license and now faces a prison sentence of up to five years. The question is why he wasn’t locked up sooner.

Have they noticed the deadly peril of hyper violent urban minority culture yet? ... I didn’t think so.

The bogus "Red Flag" law will be the next mechanism for gun confiscation.

It "sounds good" as though there will be some standard for determining risk, but there is NOT.

Anybody you've pissed off can turn you in as a risk, and BOOM your guns are gone.

If you think I’m exaggerating, just wait til a neighbor doesn’t like your political yard signs and turns you in on some bogus “threat”.

Enforcing gun laws start and should end with “the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”. Done. Remove those laws and actions in conflict, arm our citizenry and everyone will be better off.

America really let the left destroy this country. I wonder if it is too late to save the Republic. I live for today and am blessed but always think of living in America in past generations.

“Done.”

Not done.

What’s lacking is sufficient clarity as to what RKBA covers and includes and what it doesn’t.

The other side is going to come up with arguements that something they want is outside RKBA, and “shall not be infringed” won’t carry the day in the public forum if they convince people that it’s not an infringement because it’s not covered in the first place.

Yes, agreed. Constitutional carry laws probably create the most clarity. The federal government needs to revisit “gun-free zones” and create constitutionally-endorsing legislation to preempt local and state usurption. Overall, this is our challenge, establishing what RKBA means and I think this needs to come from legislation, then courts. There is a vacuum now, being filled by local laws and judicial activism.

How about some “common sense” gun law enforcement that libs always go on about? “Common sense” enforcement would demand jail for every young thug out on probation in possession of a gun of any kind.

The question is why he wasn’t locked up sooner.

Maybe he had to be convicted first? O, silly me. It's guilty until you prove yourself innocent for conservatives and gun owners....

The California red flag law is the worst. Whereas other states allow only family members or those living under the same roof as the accused to make a complaint, CA lets ANYONE denounce the gun owner to the po-po.

It’s called the Snitch Law, the turn-in-your-neighbor law, and CA LEO’s are boasting about the number of citizens they’ve seized guns from.

There’s no due process, no notification, and practically no penalty for anyone making a false statement to police.

In blue states, pretty soon anyone known to have voted for PDJT will be judged insane & a danger to others, and their rights & property (guns) will be abridged and seized.

Gun laws are not enforced to allow the Progs to claim more laws and limitations are needed to stem gun violence until... Ki d of like the Soviet’s salami tactics. One small country at a time.
