I hope you are right on your prediction. It will be very chaotic if they take the house back.

If they do not regain the house it will be fascinating to see what the reaction of the DNC will be - do they stay on the current path that veers towards the far left and obstruction or do the more sober among them admit defeat and calm things down. The big money bet (those behind the current chaos) is that they double down on obstruct, resist, and mob-like behavior.

At some point the mushy middle and their moderates turn against them. Trump needs to continue to hammer that it does not matter what they say on the campaign trail - they vote as a block against his policies that are succeeding.

Yep, we will see if they fail to take the House, what the plan is then.

And this could impact the 2020 presidential candidates too. Almost everyone on the Democrat side is a hard liberal/radical type.

Key question for the Democrats going forward, could be, do they favor their ideological purity, or do they want to win elections.

Some think 2020 could be a rerun of 1972 when the liberal radical types of that era, captured the Democrat parry, and Nixon won a landslide re-election. And a key reason for the Nixon landslide was the revulsion that “middle America” felt about those Democrat radicals.

If the “blue wave” doesn’t materialize, the Democrats will be even more angry and dangerous.

If it does, they’ll go so overboard that they’ll only hold the House for two years.
