Prosecutors for the southern district of New York are pushing back against an effort by The New York Times to unseal search warrants that authorized the raid against President Trumps former personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, according to Bloomberg.
The Times sent a letter this past week to U.S. District Judge William Pauley requesting documents related to the search of Cohens Park Avenue hotel room and Rockefeller Center office in April.
Bloomberg reported that The Times requested that the search warrants, related affidavits and court orders be unsealed.
Federal prosecutors replied with a letter dated Friday announcing they would oppose the request, citing an ongoing grand jury investigation.
The raid prompted an angry backlash from President Trump, who criticized it as a disgraceful situation.
The president characterized it as a break in and a total witch hunt.
Its an attack on our country, in a true sense, he told television cameras during a meeting with national security officials at the time.
Cohen eventually pled guilty in August to two campaign finance violations and said that Trump had directed him to illegally pay hush money to two women who claimed to have affairs with the president, including adult film actress Stormy Daniels.
He also admitted to multiple counts of tax evasion and an account of tax fraud and is now cooperating with special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating whether Trump or members of his inner circle colluded with Russia during the 2016 campaign.
Cohen, who once said he would take a bullet for the president, recently changed his political registration to the Democratic Party, signaling just how far he has fallen out with the president.
Hmmm, what are they hiding?
Any time there is secrecy in public matters there is abuse.

Someone needs to clue the NYT in that they don’t want to go there. Because the warranting process would reveal much more about the deep state than it would about Trump. The scalawags at the NYT would be ill-served by those revelations. It would stand their narrative on its head.
Of course, once they found out the dirt on the deep state, there’s no law they have to print it. Unfit to print?
It would be nice to dispel the rumor that Mueller’s team of little legal gnomes went over to the NYPD with evidence they’d planted in the media as justification for the search warrant. It would be not-nice to discover that those rumors are true. A little light, please, it’s a wonderful disinfectant.

So Cohen pleads guilty and there is still an ongoing grand jury investigation. Im no expert in these things, but possibly still investigating the President or those around him on other issues from the sleaze Cohen. He did do other work for the President and SDNY is no friend of this President. The made up campaign violation proved that.
they should give it to Mueller. He leaks everything !
Exactly. What are they hiding?
The President should empower a team of Marines to serve a Presidential Warrant on the offices of the Southern District of NY. HEY, if they can seize material from a lawyer looking for evidence against his client, why can’t this happen?
Remember Mary Jo White and Preet "Preeck BwaHaHa" Bharara...
TOTALLY CORRUPT!!!
