The word tariff by itself is meaningless. You have to specify whose tariffs. Our import tariffs can’t hurt DOMESTIC workers but a lack of one sure can. OTH Their tariffs can hurt our workers.

What people don’t understand is that there’s going to be some short-term pain involved. For far too long, we’ve been completely screwed on trade. For this reset, I would gladly pay several dollars more for appliances and such knowing that both the price and manufacturing of said product will both come down and return to the U.S.
I am considering investing in those areas that are currently being hurt, If I can do it in a way that manages risk. The tariffs won’t last forever. For instance, soybeans are down about 20%.
Sounds like they are going to boot lots of high paid middle management and replace them with fewer, younger, lower paid versions. Probably make them train their replacements.

Ford stopped making cars, they now only make trucks and SUVs. Why would they WANT to keep an entire batch of people (car designers) on their staff?
Since they’ve welshed on their promise to bring more mfg back to the States, and have gone ahead with expanding Mexican production, they are OFF my radar for any future car or truck buys anyhow. To blazes with Ford!
