MIDLOTHIAN, VA (WWBT) - A Chesterfield parent is concerned after he was told students would not be singing any Christmas songs with the word “Jesus” in them at upcoming concerts.
David Allen said he found out about the situation last week from his child who attends Robious Middle School.
"It just seems like... everywhere you look everyone's afraid of stepping on someone's toes or everything is being so sensitive," Allen said.
This is not the first time his child has taken part in the winter concert; but it’s the first time something like this has happened.
"They were unable to [sing this song] because the word Jesus was in there and apparently someone assumed it was of a sacred nature," Allen said.
Following his conversation with his child, Allen emailed the chorus teacher

Went to a middle school "Winter Holiday" event at middle school for a grand-daughters years ago. They sang about 10 songs, not one had anything to do with The Reason for the Season - the Christ Child.
I was glad a few years later when in High School, in the same school district they were singing the Christmas Classics.
Winter concert!!!!!!!!!!!!! But the liberal fanatics say there is no war on Christmas. yea whatever . The fact is that the lunatic left are waging a war against Christians, straights, whites, and America.
Those on the lunatic left who are white are just too stupid to understand they are attacking what they are, a bit like liberals having co-exist, tolerance stickers on their cars but really are consumed with hate.

There are many wonderful Christmas carols without the word “Jesus” contained therein.
Off the top of my head; Little Town of Bethlehem, Midnight Clear, Joy to the World, O Come Emmanuel, Angels We Have Heard on High, Midnight Clear.
Happened at my kids’ elementary school in 1981. And, no, the school did not reconsider.
Our secular, commercialized culture removed Christ from Christmas a long time ago, but that can’t stop Christians from bootlegging it back it, one soul at a time.
My kids are grown now but the small town high school they went to had a Christmas concert every year. The band played religious carols and we had a sing along. Not all public schools tow the line of political correctness.
Those will be next on the chopping block because Jesus is implied in them.
Also Good King Wenceslas which tells a wonderful story.
Even this concerned parent states that he’d be fine with his kid singing a Hindu song. Barf me. Move to India then.
