Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Picks And Chooses Which Parts of Her Life to Highlight – But Here's What She Left Out

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Democratic Congressional candidate from New York, hit the scene a few months ago and quickly became the face of the future of the Democratic Party. Her socialist positions made her popular with Bernie Sanders and other of the like. After all, she is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America.

On Saturday, Ocasio-Cortez celebrated her birthday in an odd way: by bragging about her "accomplishments" and the life she's built over the last seven years.

At 22, I was working w/ children + communities.

At 25, I was waitressing to support my family.

At 28, I won my primary for Congress. I didn’t have health insurance.

Today I turn 29.

You’re never too late, too early, or too imperfect to care for yourself or pursue your dreams.

I’m incredibly grateful + thankful to all the family, friends, and community that has supported this journey.

I’m blessed to have the Bronx and Queens as my home.

Thank you to everyone that has worked to fill our community with love. Looking forward to the future we make. ✨

The problem: she's left out a few key "facts" about her past that make her less appealing to Democratic voters. They go a little something like this:

• When she was five she moved from the Bronox to Yorktown Heights, where the average household income is $141,254.

• She attended Boston University, a private college where tuition alone currently sits at $52,816 (and no, that doesn't include room and board, books, fees, etc).

• While in college she interned for U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy and handled foreign affairs and immigration casework for his constituents.

• She campaigned for Bernie Sanders in 2016.

• After the 2016 election she drove across the country to talk to people in Flint, Michigan about the water crisis there and to the Dakota Access Pipeline protests to talk with protestors.

• She worked for the National Hispanic Institute , a nonprofit organization that fights for the civil rights of hispanics, as the Educational Director of the 2017 Northeast Collegiate World Series.

Does Ocasio-Cortez sound like someone who can relate to the average Joe? Absolutely not.

Does she know what it's like to have to work multiple jobs while attending college? Nope.

Is she a political outsider? Hardly.

Why are Democrats falling for this Socialist darling? Oh, that's right. Because she's promising them "free" things.

At 12 I was cleaning bingo halls.
At 16 I was harvesting tobacco.
At 16-17 I was washing dishes in a restaurant.
At 17-18 I was running a broiler,deep fryer, stove.
At 19 I was busting the curve in chemistry lab.
At 22 I had an Electrical Engineering BS.
At 25 I had a Computer Science MS.
I’ve failed and merely been a ‘salaried schmuck’ since then but the point is at least I tried something of my own effort. I may have not been ‘successful’ but at least I rely on my own effort. I don’t expect a ‘government bailout’

And she is unemployed former bartender. That’s her paid career work to date by all accounts I’ve read.

While Kennedy drank heavily, I’m not sure that gets him past the face in post 7. There’s a great Halloween face.

She sounds like Texas’ own Fake Candidate, Robert Francis O’Rourke (aka “Beto” O’Rourke). He’s just a regular guy, with several million dollars from his Republican land developer dad’s Estate and his mom’s furniture stores. Only the most gullible would think these candidates would accomplish anything for America. They are in it for themselves.

Very interesting facts!

But I give her credit, she could have earned combat pay working as an intern for Ted Kennedy — especially as a woman.

I’m sure Kennedy selected Occasion Cortex for her vast intellect. I heard she waived the underwater diver training required of that job.

No insurance? Obola demanded that you get it or lose the house. Why did you not comply?
