Republican Carol Miller has overtaken Richard Ojeda (D) in the race for West Virginia's 3rd District House seat, according to a poll released Tuesday.
A Monmouth University poll shows Miller with the support of 48 percent of likely midterm voters in the state, compared to 45 percent who say they support Ojeda. The poll's results come after previous surveys of the district in deep-red West Virginia showed Ojeda with as much as a double-digit lead.
In a Monmouth poll in June, Ojeda led Miller by 9 points, according to Monmouth. Monmouth said in a press release with the poll on Tuesday that Ojeda's vote share had remained about the same while Miller had made gains among undecided voters.
Ojedas share of the vote hasnt really moved since the summer while Millers standing has risen, said Patrick Murray, Monmouth's polling director. These results are a sign of Republican voters returning to the fold in a district that leans Republican, especially in its support of the president.

Yeah like there ever was the slightest chance of a Democrat winning in flaming red West Virginia. But this kills another “toss-up” ( I don’t think even Wrong Way Larry Sabato could have had a toss up in West Trump Virginia).
Just hope Republicans in W Va don’t split their votes and vote for Manchin. Time for Joe to go.
WVA has blue collar Democrats... they always voted Democrat - but the times, theyre a changin.
For the better.
How is pulling ahead “Gaining Ground?” Shouldn’t the headline be, “Republican Pulls Ahead. . ?”
Jesus that media sucks.

If it was the dimoKKKRAT they would say dimoKKKRAT opens up big lead on over Republican.
Every close Senate race is now breaking for the Republican. Why would it be different in the House?
I am seeing a LOT of these kinds of articles of Republican gains. ALL FREEPERS MUST VOTE IN NOVEMBER!
Watch for the Red Tsunami...
Coal mine inspector? LOL!
So this is a R seat, where the R resigned to take a seat on the WV Supreme Court. Dems were hoping to flip this seat with their “blue wave”, and were supposedly leading until the Dems went batsh:t crazy over Kavanaugh. Now this seat, like many others, is trending back to R. The author failed miserably in capturing any of this in this piece.
