Another 4,109 Medicaid beneficiaries in Arkansas lost their health insurance in October after failing to comply with the program's work requirements for three months, according to the Arkansas Department of Human Services.
The health department said 4,353 Medicaid beneficiaries lost their health insurance in September after failing to comply with the regulation. This brings the total number of beneficiaries who have lost coverage to nearly 8,500, according to The Hill. More than 76,000 beneficiaries were subject to the requirement.
Work requirements for Medicaid beneficiaries between the ages of 30 and 49 took effect for an initial group of members June 1 and were rolled out within that subgroup through September. Beneficiaries between the ages of 19 and 29 will face work requirements in 2019 unless they can prove exemption status.
The great thing about low unemployment, is that you can actually get down to the people who need intervention.
7.1 million jobs available in US today.
They’re too busy working to have time to find a job!
I guess they’ll have to pay their doctors using big rolls of cash.
Great news....people finding the joy of self preservation!!!
But, but, but, but, ...
PRE EXISTING CONDITIONS!
I cannot be blamed for stuffing this EBT cigarette into my mouth!
I wish that would be implemented here in the welfare stare of NY.
Is this a federal or state regulation?
I believe it is a state reg that required a waiver from DHHS.
I do believe though that this reg is being litigated: https://wreg.com/2018/08/15/lawsuit-filed-over-arkansas-medicaid-work-requirement/
Theres a lot of people on Medicaid who dont/wont work because they are morbidly obese. They eventually develop other serious health problems because they dont lose weight.
Welfare, like medicaid, are a CONTRIBUTING FACTOR to their morbidly obese disease.
In a private charity world, at least they had a chance for a better life.
But govt funding of charity, has doomed them.
Maybe if they stopped stuffing their face and worked they wouldn’t be potential stars on “My 600 Pound Life “.
