I was only ever in Alaska as a baby, my mom took me on cruise, so if Alaskans want to take me to task for any of this, go gentle, but I intently followed the last election in Alaska.
The Governor, Bill Walker, is a former RINO (failed at trying to get the 2010 gubernatorial nomination) turned Independent. Byron Mallot, the just departed LT Governor, was the democrat nominee for Governor in 2014, when it was apparent that Walker was running ahead of him he dropped out, and in violation of Alaska law, replaced Walker’s previous running mate in a new liberal tag-team ticket, the State Supreme court okayed this travesty. The democrat gubernatorial nomination was left officially vacant. Walker still deems himself an independent, he governs indistinguishably from a democrat, Mallet always officially remained a rat.
Sarah Palin hated her GOP successor, Sean Parnell, for stupid reasons relating to him firing some of her old people (and Walker agreeing to reinstate them, allegedly) and supporting the repeal of her pet program that was hurting the oil industry in the state , voters repealed it, narrowly, in a statewide referendum. Palin endorsed Walker/Mallet, and this likely made the difference in the very close, possibly fraudulent election. Freepers like to forget this, at the time a bunch of idiots went around saying Parnell was a RINO (a lie) and she doing the right thing backing an obvious liberal scumbag traitor in Bill Walker, they have been silent on the subject since Walker starting democrating it up in office. To my knowledge Palin has never apologized.
Walker was gonna run in the rat primary this time, then resign the nomination after winning it and be on the ballot as an independent again, because such absurd shenanigans are somehow allowed. Former US Senator Mark Begich threw a monkey wrench into those plans when he filed to run, Walker knew he couldn’t beat him in rat primary so he dropped that idea and it’s a 3-way race. I don’t know what possessed Begich but God bless the idiot, he and Walker are diving the dumbass vote evenly and the GOP nominee should cruise in with 40-something percent.
Alaska is infected with RINO scum, some of which I’m sure support Walker. The State House is right now ruled by a Rat/RINO coalition, that’s right a GOP majority and enough of them voted for a democrat Speaker to put him in. One of the traitors somehow narrowly won renomination during the primary.
Anyway, Mallot has resigned as LT Governor but apparently there is no legal loophole to get his name off the ballot, he says he’ll decline the office if reelected (which isn’t happening!). Walker appointed some bitch as the New Interim LT Governor. Sounds like Mallot hit on some chick and she wasn’t interested so it’s a crime against women. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. I’d feel bad for him if he wasn’t scum that deserved it.

This morning, I saw the results of a PPP poll that had the GOP nominee, Mike Dunleavy, well ahead of Walker and Democrat Mark Begich, but the sum of Walker’s and Begich’s total exceeded Dunleavy’s. I thought that PPP (which are notorious Democrats who routinely release polls to create a narrative) might have released the poll to prod Walker and Begich to combine forces like Walker and Mallott did four years ago, which would be the only way that they could have any chance of defeating Dunleavy. When I read about Mallott’s mysterious resignation for allegedly “inappropriate” comments, I feared that it was a pretense for creating a vacancy on the ballot that Begich would fill and that the Democrats would then remove their ticket from the ballot (which, again, is what the Democrats did four years ago). So I’m relieved to see that Gov. Walker quickly announced that the new Lt. Governor, Valerie Davidson, would be Mallott’s replacement as his runningmate in the election (although apparently Mallott’s name would have to remain on the ballot), thus foreclosing an 11th-hour switcheroo.
Walker or Mallott need to ‘fess up and tell the public what was the cause of his resignation. Of course, the media will respect a rodent and keep a secret. If this were a Republican, every (fake) news outlet in the country would have a flunky dumpster-diving in the ex-Lt Gov’s trash to find out.
