The World has walked all over U.S. Taxpayers thanks to inept politicians spending our money. Trump is no longer willing to do this and is protecting U.S. taxpayers - This really is spectacular.

Jeff Bezos and his blog, the Washington Post, will be squirming around on this one.

Fun times ahead. Bezos with a wedgie.

The more I learn, the more I shake my head. I cannot believe how bad the US has been shafted throughout the world. I don’t think I’ll ever look at other countries the same again....or our President. Thank you, sir.

Like many Americans I buy a lot of Chinese-made electronic components that come via “China Post” for free shipping. Lately however US-based resellers have started competing by having quantities shipped over in one container and then fulfilled from a US location. The cost is higher but still affordable and shipping time is reduced from several weeks to several days. So there are ways to satisfy customers without the US taxpayers having to foot the bill.

I like “free stuff” as well as anyone, but I also know that “free” is never really free. It’s a question of who pays, and that “who” should be the one who derives the benefit from it.

The price of drugs is going up.......

snip
The U.S. is willing to renegotiate the treaty over the next
year but will leave the union if no agreement can be reached,
the officials said.

Trump argues that the global shipping treaty benefits China
and other countries at the expense of U.S. businesses —
making it cheaper to ship packages from Beijing to New York
than from San Francisco to the East coast, which particularly
benefits Chinese, manufacturers. The officials say the treaty
is used by shippers of the narcotic fentanyl to the U.S. from China.

Thanks for posting this. I am thankful that the president isn’t running around trying to court China. China wants to build a big paper mill in my backyard. The local officials are a bunch of, well, people who will do anything for money. Thanks to President Trump, it might not be built at all. I tried to post an article about it to FR and my post was deleted because it “had a fake title.” It made me so mad that I left the site for about a month.

“Local, not Global,” is a great motto. Bless you!

Time to make some last purchases of cheap chinese crap mailed from Shanghai to you house for less that it would cost to mail across the street.

I might also buy some Indian version engineering books in case they get swept up in this too. $2.99 for 3 day shipping from Mumbai to my house? That might not last much longer either.

India charges huge tariffs on our exports to that country. When asked about that the Indian trade representative said, and I paraphrase, nobody from the US government ever asked us to lower our tariffs, so we didn't. UFB.

We have taxation WITHOUT representations. We'd may be doing better as British colony at this point.

My wife asked me what I thought would happen in 5 or 10 years when the Chinese economy surpasses the US one, as has been stated in the media. I rejected the premise, I said that China has grown on the backs of the USA and without our markets, without preferential access to them in fact, and without stealing all our intellectual property, they are nothing. And you can't base your ecomony on exploiting someone else's and surpass it unless you turn them into slaves or something. And we aren't going to be their slaves if Trump has anything to say about it.

She just thought I was in right winger denial mode. But I stand by it.

I always wondered how I was able to order something from China for $3.00 free shipping.

It would cost me many times that to ship something to Hong Kong, not even counting whatever the item was.

inept politicians spending our money

I would be that, truth be known, all of the politicians that signed off on these types of arrangements received some very nice "cash payments under the table" at our expense.

More winning from the best president since the 1800’s (and I’m not talking about Lincoln) - probably the best president since Washington.

Make America a light to the world again...

It’s the politicians we keep sending to congress. Their only concern is what’s in it for them money wise. That’s why we need term limits and no retirement benefits for congress.

“The World has walked all over U.S. Taxpayers thanks to inept politicians spending our money.”

With the willing help of every f*cking one of our politicians! If there is one reason to have a wholesale “vote the ba$tards out” movement, it’s how they all have saddled the US taxpayer with the costs of “fixing” the rest of the world.
