"This is the tightest market, labor market, I've ever seen, he said in an interview with "Squawk Box." "But concurrently, we have a very slow productivity increase." ...

Alan, tell your wife, Andrea Mitchell. She should be more informed, before she rags on Trump.
Can’t stand Greenspan. He brought on 2008. The job market is good, but its got to stay good for a good while yet.
A line from Pulp Fiction comes to mind:
“Let’s not start sucking each other’s ****s just yet.”
Productivity is the average production per worker per hour. If you have them work more hours you get less in the last hour than the first. If you hire the people whose only skill is fogging a mirror you get less productivity. I’m surprised the average isn’t going down.
When the jobs people who can't pass a drug test can get anyway are full and wages in that segment are rising, then I'll believe there's a tight labor market.
productivity trends higher and lags the unemployment rate. First comes low unemployment, the increase in productivity then an employment correction, either more or less depending upon the economy.
There are some businesses currently trialing 4 day work weeks (4 x 10 hr), and the results are surprisingly good.
I LOVED working 4/10’s in the past and everyone I’ve ever met that had that work week was over-the-moon about it, too. :)
With more and more white collar workers telecommuting, four tens is a lot easier to justify. If I had to be at the office for 11 hours a day, Id go nuts.
Sounds like a good time for massive layoffs of government employees, and cutting people off of welfare. Get them to take jobs in the private sector.
Let me guess, this means we need to let in millions of Mexicans, and raise interest rates because of an “overheating” economy.
I worked the 4 - 10 hour days....and loved it. And you could pick the hours, too. And you didn’t have to take an hour lunch.
I worked 80 hours a week and then a week off for 20 years as a night shift pharmacist. I loved it. My first day off I just slept and drank a little whiskey and rested. The next six day wife and I did anything we wanted as in short trips etc. When I took vacation time I would burn 80 hours of my work week and thus get 21 days off. I really liked working this way but it is not for most people. My kids were grown and gone so it worked for me. This is not good for a family with young kids at home but it was great for me.
The other pharmacists liked that me and my other partner on the opposite shift did this. They were mostly younger with family and kids and thus they did not have to work the night shift.
I think it means that a lot of the jobs are still low value jobs.
For 8 years under Obama the economy was readjusting to lower wages and lower value jobs while high value jobs continued to be off-shored.
