JB Pritzker's Race Problem Isn't His Alone
The Chicago Sun-Times ^ | October 23, 2018 | Mary Mitchell

I’ve covered enough campaigns to be wary of last-minute accusations.

So I didn’t think much about the discrimination complaint that was filed by ten JB Pritzker for Governor campaign workers.

But then I looked at backgrounds of the people making those allegations.

Most of them had experience working on other important political campaigns.

There’s no evidence that the lawsuit has had a negative impact on the campaign.

In fact, Pritzker’s unfavorable comments about black politicians, captured on a secretly recorded wiretap... caused a bigger uproar.

During the conversation, Pritzker mulled over which black politician would be “least offensive” to fill Barack Obama’s U.S. Senate seat when Obama won the presidency.

Pritzker was heard on wiretap calling former state Senate President Emil Jones “crass” and sizing up then U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. as a “nightmare.”

[T]he lawsuit alleges the JB Pritzker for Governor was a “cesspool of racial discrimination and harassment.”

For example, the suit alleges Kasmine Calhoun, a field organizer, was told she was “hired to meet a ‘Black Female organizer quota.’”

Calhoun was stationed in Peoria and was to be housed with a family friendly to the campaign.

“But when the family found out Kasmine was Black, they denied her housing. Kasmine was forced to sleep in her car and at the campaign office,” according to the lawsuit.

Maybe we have become so accustomed to race-based politics that expecting African-American and Latino field organizers to go “round up 40 Black guys” for an event doesn’t seem like a racist request.

These African-American and Latino field organizers also allege that the JB Pritzker for Governor campaign denied them “the same resources, such as housing and a safe place to work;” “equal opportunity to apply for positions of advancement,” “and the same privileges as their white counterparts, such as telecommuting.”

Pritzker leads in the gubernatorial race according to polls. Nothing like entering elected office under an ethical cloud. It's the Democratic way in Illinois.

Call him Governor Pritzker. Between his money and Rauner's default as a leader - he's in like Flint. And on his remarks about Jesse Jackson, III, hard to disagree. The guy was clearly mentally ill, a true "nightmare".

He’s a Democrat.

That’s why the fake news media is covering for him.

These Black politicians are in it for themselves....and they are offensive and racist.

Mary Mitchell has been a race baiting reporter for the Chicago Sun Times since the 1980’s. Every column she wrote on Obama praised him as the second coming. When the Sun Times got rid of most of their talented reporters, Mary Mitchell hung on to her job...Go figure

Mary Mitchell is pretty bad, but so is the Sun-Times. Under its new principal owner, its editorial policies are blatantly pro-Democrat. Recently, its endorsements selected all Democratic candidates for the US Congress. The paper also publishes Jesse Jackson and others leftists as op-ed columnists. The rival paper, the Tribune, is a RINO publication (formerly conservative).
