ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) A US official confirmed coalition forces exchanged fire with armed groups on October 15 near Manbij as suspicions rise that they were Turkish-backed rebel factions.
They [coalitions forces] received gunfire from undisclosed persons and returned fire, and it ended quickly, skirmish at best, Army Colonel Sean Ryan, Spokesman for Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR), told Kurdistan 24.
But we dont know who fired and it was during a US-MMC [Manbij Military Council] patrol, he added.
Syrian Kurdish journalist Hosheng Hesen posted a video on his Twitter account that reportedly showed the clashes between US troops in Manbij and armed rebel factions backed by Turkey.

Prompting the US troops there to respond to the fire sources and enter into clashes with the attacking factions, he added.
Training for joint US-Turkish patrols around the Syrian city of Manbij has begun, Ryan told Pentagon reporters on October 16.
However, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has repeated threats at the US over the Syrian city of Manbij, and that he was prepared to attack Manbij to eliminate terrorists if the US was unwilling to do so, as he was cited as saying on Wednesday.

More "Moderate" "Democratic" "Rebels"?
Jihadi’s are not “moderate”. FSA is a very bad coctail.
FSA includes: ISIS, Nusra (al Qaeda), Uygurs, al Sham, ++.
Muslim Brotherhood Terrorists are silent about FSA, but I suspect some are in it too. They now headquarter in Turkey.
The first thing Turkey did when they decided to join the fight against ISIS was to bomb our Kurdish allies in Iraq. It was sheer luck none of our SOF teams were hit.
Branding all the Kurds as PKK is the same as calling all Americans Antifa members. They also sold stolen oil despite embargoes, and gave ISIS sanctuary along their southern border. Turkey is no ones friend.
Agree totally. The Northern Syrian Kurds are very different than some in Turkey and Iraq. I don’t know as much about the Kurds in Iran, suspect they are more like in Iraq.
Turkey (Erdogan) is not going to give up on Manbij, if he has a shot at it, but I doubt he would make it a major effort now. His big play now seems to be splitting the US/Saudi alliance, and undermining MBS. I expect he will avoid rocking the boat while that is in play.
