Report: China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea prepping space-based EMP attacks against U.S.

Nuclear Threat: Russia, China, North Korean, and Iran are prepping for nuclear-sourced electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attacks from space in any future conflict with the United States that would cripple the Pentagon’s ability to respond while leaving America in the dark, a recently declassified study says.

“The United States critical national infrastructure faces a present and continuing existential threat from combined-arms warfare, including cyber and manmade electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack, and natural EMP from a solar superstorm,” the report from the congressional Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Attack said.

I would say that this is normal military preparation. Hopefully, the US has been doing the same thing to them.

More pointless chicken little BS.

The bulk of our military hardware is hardened against EMP attacks.

The only use for said weapons is suicide, assuming we have a capable POTUS.

Hopefully. We regularly read about the security flaws in our system and infrastructure all the time but nothing seems to get done. Levin had a show about it sometime ago.

Instead we foolishly make our national priority the making of liberal oligarchs that rake in billions stealing our privacy while controlling our speech and guns. Corruption has replaced common sense. The next war will be paid for dearly by the sacrifice of civilians unable to heat or feed themselves because of these globalists and oligarchs plundering us and owning pols..

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Given our dependence on technology, we need to find a way to protect our entire public and government infrastructure. Just hardening guvvie assets isn't enough.

What good is having government assets protected if our entire economy is destroyed.

In fact, the more I think about it, Russia and China have a lot to lose if our economy is destroyed. Iran...not so much.

there are already hardened FERMI caged protected radio stations for mass communication directly from the WH. Obama started it, probably hoping to “test it” during a crisis. Didn’t happen.

Well we would definitely have to reach out ad touch the Iranians wouldn’t we?

People don’t necessarily understand the implications of an EMP attack, remember that cities like New York that have over 1000,000 people have less than a week’s worth of food.

And while the inner-city denizens begin to riot and eat people, the government will still be trying to clear vital transportation systems like Highways and Rail Roads. Rebuild power grid including generators.

Some people describe an EMP attack like a nuclear war except the victims are still walking...

Yes, but someone somewhere needs some grant funds or sell some more books and reality does not matter to them.

It would indeed be suicide for any nation or nations to attempt to cut off come between the Pentagon and our forces.

At any given time we have approximately 12 missile carrying submarines (Ohio Class) on patrol in all the oceans of the world. These submarines carry a combined total of approximately 3000 nuclear warheads on the missiles they carry. Each of the missiles on these submarines are capable of carrying up to 10 independently targeted nuclear bombs, each approximately 25 times more powerful then those we dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Each of these submarines must make contact with the Pentagon once every 24 hours. If they cannot do so after a programmed series of tries the submarines will then assume that we have been attacked and will launch their missiles on assigned targets.

Just one of these subs can obliterate an entire nation.

How much of our civilian electrical grid is hardened? That is what is critical. We lose our grid, we lose the ability to sustain ourselves. Sure we can return nuke strike - our nation and citizens will be critically hit and unrecoverable for years.

At this point in History there once again are contenders on the “world stage” to lead, for whatever reasons, greed, hate, (good of man..fat chance..lol)the apex is ripe for now or never scenarios..The Usa is rejuventing, we will not be weaker for 100 years..we are politically stupid and can be infiltrated easily..chips implanted to misdirect missles, ..yea

That is my point. Anyone crazy enough to pop an EMP on us will be committing suicide, so why the “concern”? It's not like this isn't a known possibility.

This has been a known quantity for decades. It is why we harden our military hardware. Our adversaries know our gear is hardened.

To ponder that anyone can simply launch an EMP attack upon the U.S. and “get away with it” is absurd (assuming we don't have another pussy POTUS like our 44th). It is one reason I tend not to worry about EMP attacks and categorize them with “the end of civilization” scenarios.

military hardware hardening doesn’t matter in this scenario. Nationwide loss of electricity will result in approximately 90% death rate in the US.
So if NK launches a successful attack, we glass over the country. but that leaves the govt totally overwhelmed by civilian disaster of huge scale. no amount of military hardening can mitigate that.

Again, this is a known quantity, and has been ever since the EMP effects were “discovered”.

Again, the “end of civilization” scenario. Death by slow starvation, or death by radiation, or death by instant overheating. Same outcome.

You think China will not be annihilated if NK pops an EMP over CONUS? NK starting shit will only drag in the rest of the world to a nuclear holocaust.
