Noam Chomsky: Trump isn't really a nationalist
Washington Examiner ^ | Oct. 24, 2018

Posted on 10/24/2018 8:52:26 AM PDT by deplorableindc

Left-wing academic Noam Chomsky says President Trump is not a “nationalist" because Trump doesn't care enough about his own nation, regardless of Trump's controversial embrace of the term this week.

Chomsky told the Washington Examiner the term is used in "all sorts of ways." But while the term has been used to describe world leaders such as Adolf Hitler, the linguist and social analyst said he's less concerned about that connotation and more irked by the falsity of Trump's claim.

“I do object to the term for different reasons," he said. "A nationalist is someone who is concerned for the state of the nation, which is far from true in Trump's case."

Chomsky is a leftist lunatic that only those who mainline the Koolaid pay any attention to. He shot his bolt a long time ago.

Noam Chomsky: Trump isn't really a nationalist

And the real mobs are the Republicans who show up at Trump rallies.

And the economic recovery was caused by Obama, who said there couldn't be an economic recovery, and that 1-2% growth was the "new normal" for the United States.

Communists like Chomsky think you are only looking out for your country if you support communism.

Chomsky is playing word games.

That is what he does and who he is.

He simply redefines words so that he wins the argument in advance.

The left does this continually, which is why Chomsky is so popular on the left.

According to the left, if reality does not favor you, change the definitions!

You cannot be both a nationalist and a globalist Free Trader at the same time. You are either one or the other. You have to choose one or the other.

All patriots are nationalists by definition.

“I do object to the term for different reasons," he said. "A nationalist is someone who is concerned for the state of the nation, which is far from true in Trump's case."

Spoken by a "man" who has never evidenced even a passing concern for America...

I get it.

Nationalism is bad, being white and a nationalist is worse, and Trump isn’t even patriotic. So, he’s intersectionally bad, and personally worse.

Chomsky, a name you can trust in all things political.

I saw Chomsky speak twice in the late 80’s.

I had no political opinions at the time. I was in college and dating a leftist girl.

I only recall his talks being a vast hairball of connected conspiracy theories. Henry Kissinger was his key bogeymen at the center of the web of capitalist, Wall Street, imperialist plots to destroy the meek and humble nations of Cuba, Nicaragua, black South Africa.

Noam the Chump: "I am not a communist, and neither are any of my comrades."

As for Trump: no matter what he calls himself, he's doing the #1 defining job of a nationalist and a Constitutionalist: defending borders and repelling invaders.

So the Democrats who are welcoming this invading caravan into our country without vetting or proper processing are the true nationalists and care for this country? Is that it, Mr. Choamsky?

Nationalism is a bad word because so much of the nation has absorbed the self-loathing philosophy of Howard Zinn’s Peoples’ History.

Nationalism might mean a favor for your own nation’s self-interest plus the intention and desire for conquest against your neighboring states.

Or, nationalism might mean simple a favor for your own nation’s self-interest vis-a-vis that of your neighboring states, with malice toward none except where others infringe against your interests.

The latter is Trumps view, and it is the most reasonable thing in the world. It is a breath of fresh air.

Concomitant with Zinn is the growing Progressive philosophy of globalism. Wilson’s League of Nations has grown into the silly ideal that we are better ruled from Washington D.C. than from Topeka, and that we are better ruled by administrators in Brussels than elected Congressmen in D.C.

Chomsky jumped the shark sometime after 1957, the year he produced his masterpiece of linguistics, later wandering into his field of incompetence. He should have stuck to what he was good at.
