Another child has died in the deadly viral outbreak at a long-term care facility in New Jersey, which has already claimed the lives of six young patients and has hospitalized nearly a dozen others.

The state Department of Health confirmed the seventh death on Wednesday morning, as it continues to work with the Centers for Disease Control to investigate the deaths in Haskell in northern Passaic County.

"The New Jersey Department of Health learned last night that unfortunately another child who was hospitalized due to adenovirus passed away yesterday," said health department spokeswoman Donna Leusner. "The young child's death was associated with the 12 confirmed cases of adenovirus among medically fragile children at the Wanaque Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation."

Terrible.

From your link....

The state has not released the names or the ages of the victims, but said they ranged from toddlers to teenagers.

Leusner said the strain of adenovirus seen in the outbreak was associated with communal living arrangements and known to cause severe illness.

These are kids in group caring facilities, sort of nursing homes for the very physically and often intellectually and emotionally broken kids.

These viruses go through nursing homes like the grim reaper, and essentially this is a nursing home.

About 4 years ago I got the adenovirus. From what I was told it is airborne and this brought me to my knees. I ended up with severe respiratory problems and even pink eye. I was sick for about a week, in bed and virtually unable to move. I’m in pretty good health but this is something that can break the strongest person. I cannot even begin to imagine the suffering this is causing for children and the elderly.

When I was a flight attendant, once I was at the international gate watching one of our planes unloading from somewhere in Mexico. There were several children that were in obvious outbreaks of chickenpox that had not even scabbed yet. Thanks Mexico.

When you import third world people without screening, you get third world diseases.

From what I just read in a search on adenovirus, it’s the cirus that causes pinkeye. It contaminates noses, throats, lungs, nerves and urinary bladder. You can get it from changing a diaper from an infected infant.

People must learn to wash their hands!!

Also, toys that are handled by children need to be sanitized more often.

I won’t touch magazines in a doctor’s office as one made me extremely I’ll a few years ago. Thank God for smart phones!

Passaic County borders Essex County, NJ. Right along side Newark. Covers a good part of northwestern NJ. Place has been a dump for decades. The city of Patterson is smack in the middle. It’s been Muslim dominated for years.

NPCresponse to this : “Chickenpox are harmless.”

Normal reply : “Well, it can cripple adults with shingles and the kill elderly.”

NPCresponse #1 “So what, the elderly need to die”
NPCresponse #2 “RACIST!!!!! ORANGE MAN BAD!”

NPC = typical brainwashed liberal

I knew a nurse who used to work in this facility as an LPN; the children there were severely handicapped, physically and usually cognitively. Not emotionally. Children with really bad brain damage or genetic disease, on vents and trachs, needing total care that their families could not provide.

One of her patients died, a little girl on a vent, and she was broken up about it, told me that all the staff were upset. So it isn’t a lack of caring there, unless things have changed in ten years.

It’s possible that the staff had gotten casual about infection control; Medicare/Medicaid had rated them below average. A respiratory infection can progress to pneumonia easily in patients like this; pneumonia may be the most common cause of death for them.

I don’t know about illegals, but we have imported much of the staff in state hospitals, psychiatric facilities, nursing homes and group homes, from Indian and Pakistani psychiatrists to African nurses to Caribbean aides.

It is work Americans won’t do - it is physically arduous, low-paying and emotionally difficult. That is on us - we won’t pay American rates to take care of the elderly and handicapped.

Some of these viral things are airborne and not easy to prevent.

That said, I am seeing more of these facilities with workers from Jamaica, and Islamics. Neither are particularly great aides.

Yep, Americans won’t do the work, we need to force black slaves to pick the cotton.

Don’t worry, it will work out just fine

I visit a dozen rehab centers and old Folks homes a week.

The number of Invaders working in some of these places is startling and very unsettling.

I agree, but I won’t call them invaders when they were recruited by American healthcare facilities.

When you see as I have a nurse neglecting to check the blood sugar of an unconscious diabetic patient, or an aide doing chest compressions on a conscious patient, you know the facilities - meaning the government - meaning the taxpaying citizens - are not willing to pay for adequate care and good staff for patients who are counted as a net loss to society, people who are never going to be strong and well and independent.
