A volunteer at an early-voting site in Pitt County says she was assaulted by the Democratic candidate for district attorney over the weekend, the state Republican Party reported Thursday.
The GOP said the candidate, Faris Dixon, grabbed the woman’s hand with a grip that left extensive bruising, and released photographs of a bruised hand. Party officials did not disclose the woman’s name, at her request, and said she reported the incident to police.
A Greenville Police Department report, classified as an assault-on-a-female investigation, shows that a woman named Julie Anne Dodson, 75, told police an encounter happened about 6 p.m. Saturday at the early-voting location.
A police spokeswoman said a detective will look into the allegations.
“At this point, further investigation is needed to determine what happened,” said Kristen Hunter.
A woman who answered the phone Thursday afternoon said Dodson was not available to talk and hung up.

She’s an elderly woman with a nasty bruise on her hand who immediately reported it to the police and has photos and a medical report. If someone did that to my mother or grandmother, they would be picking up their teeth. She’s nothing like Dr. Fraud.
The GOP in a news release said the woman was bringing handouts to fellow Republican volunteers at the Alice F. Keene Center on County Home Road in the Eastern North Carolina town of Greenville when Dixon approached her and grabbed her hand.
Dixon pushed his thumb into her hand until it hurt, the GOP said, and she visited a doctor for an X-ray and photographs.
‘Party officials did not disclose the woman’s name, at her request’, BUT THE COPS DID!! This woman will now become a target for wacko Dems. I sure hope she sues the Police Dept, if she is assaulted again by wacko Dems!

If this poor lady had arthritic hands and fingers, then her pain would have been multiplied by a zillion.

Its an assault. Not as assault on a female politically correct bs thing.
Its not worse or special that the assaulted person is female.
This categorizing and classifying of people into groups is insane and if we are all equal under the law, an assault against one person is no less or more than any other person.
As already noted, the woman has displayed a picture and went to the police and filed a report. She also went to the doctor. Assuming that there is no confusion in any way on the part of the woman, this is quite a bit more evidence than that provided by Baby Talking Ford.
This is worthy of investigation and the guy should be brought in for questioning and possibly arrested and then held without bail due to the age of the victim.
Had someone grabbed my mother or mother-in-law’s hand and squeezed so hard a bruise like that was left, there would be a serious problem.
