I have friends in that area that are Jewish (they are safe). I do not know yet if they know any of the deceased (or if they were even there; yet).
Of the Jewish people I know from that area, many are conservative and vote Republican.
That area is notoriously leftist.
I used to work in and around Squirrel Hill and cannot begin to tell you how much I came to loathe the lefty assholes there (not everyone was, but folks on FR know what I am talking about).

We just came up to Pittsburgh late last night, in prep for Steeler game, having driven thru the Squirel Hill tunnel. This morning eating breakfast I see news on in the distance with police cars and see it is VERY local, synagogue police action just a few miles up from downtown where we are near said tunnel.
How spooky to think we came here just in time for this scary atrocity.
Was going to say, haven’t been so close to a mass murder, but then, we actually live and go to the mall in MD shot up just a few years ago.

When there is REAL murder (12 innocent Jews), and the perpetrator is a Trump hater, a hater of Israel, and a hater of the Jewish people (proven by his own social media posts) - there is crickets in the media. Even here on FR - hardly anything posted about this guy.

So - I had a passing thought of wearing a yellow star today bc of the synagogue shooting. We are all Jews, in a way. And then they are blaming Trump and the mayor has announced he is not welcome there? Good grief and nevermind.
