In 2018 alone, including the most recent carnage at a synagogue in Pittsburgh, there have been 47,220 gun-related incidents resulting in 11,984 deaths in the United States, according to data compiled by Gun Violence Archive, an independent data-collection and research group.

That breaks down to 157 incidents and 40 deaths a day and does not include 22,000 suicides. Of the total fatalities, 548 were children, while 2,321 were teenagers.

These deaths consisted of
11,208 homicides,
21,175 suicides,
505 deaths due to accidental or
discharge of a firearm, and
281 deaths due to firearms use with
undetermined intent". All right, so we ban suicide and the number of gun deaths drop by almost half.....

Independent my ass..

How many of these were law enforcement defending innocent citizens?

How many of these were legally armed citizens defending themselves from deadly assaults?

How many of these were the ferals in the big blue cities killing each other over being “dissed”, turf, or over a pair of sneakers?

American red states and counties do not have a gun problem.

Young democrats have a gun problem and commit the vast amount of gun crimes in our nation and have for the last 20 years according to the FBI on line data banks.

That map, and most data maps like it, are just population density maps. There is nothing of value that can be learned from this map other than “more people live in these places.”

According to a study from Johns Hopkins Medical School, approximately 250,000 deaths per year are caused by medical errors. So it is 7.5 times more likely that you will get killed by a doctor than a gun. And that calculation includes the suicides.

There are more than 5 times as many "incidents" which result in death due to medical errors than there are "gun incidents"

I live in a town where everyone has a gun and a dog. No violent crime. No gun accidents.

unfortunately, in my lifetime, I’ve known probably 20+ people who have offed themselves.

Only 2 used a gun

Closed garages and pills lead the list, with a couple of self-hangings thrown in

How many times were firearms brandished to thwart a gun related incident?

For context thats a mere 10 days of abortions in the usa.

And about one-third of people dead in vehicle accidents.

Yup, iatrogenic deaths from nurses and doctors kill far more people a year than guns.

The libtard logic would demand we ban doctors and nurses. ban hospitals.

They dont scream about banning cars because of accident deaths.

How many of those incidents were defensive and saved an honest persons life?

Exactly. One wonders if these anti-gun nuts would prefer people were killed with bombs, knives, baseball bats, hammers, or a million other things that can be used as weapons.

So we can reduce crime if we redistribute the poor instead redistributing wealth....

Yeah , we can give every city a poverty quota and once that has been filled any excess poor people must be relocated to cities with a poverty deficit.

I’m being sarcastic, but it would probably be more effective financing a poverty lifestyle since they would no longer have a support group to make them feel deserving of OPM.....

We have enough of those in government as it is.....
