The fight over civil rights protections for transgender people could prove to be a major test for the Supreme Court, particularly its conservative wing, as justices weigh whether to take up the issue this term.
The court has a request before it to hear a case challenging whether civil rights laws that prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex in employment extend to transgender workers.
It’s a dispute that may have a significant impact on the Trump administration’s reported plans to exclude federal protections for transgender people by narrowly defining gender.
The New York Time reported last week that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is leading an effort to write a rule that defines gender as a biological, immutable condition determined by genitalia at birth, a move that would affect civil rights laws banning gender discrimination in education programs that receive federal funding.
While the pending case before the justices deals with civil rights in the workplace, experts say a Supreme Court ruling could very well affect the administration’s planned gender rule.
“If the Supreme Court took it and held what the majority of courts are holding -- that sex discrimination includes transgender people -- the administration would be hard pressed to go ahead with that rule,” said Diana Flynn, litigation director at Lambda Legal, a group that advocates for LGBT rights.

you know that’s just crazy talk to a leftard, right? Then again, i challenged some snowflake a few weeks back about the 50 year old “hunt” for the “gay gene”.
We have traveled to and worked in China (Mainland), Hong Kong, Taiwan, Tailand, Cambodia, Korea, and Russia. We have filed health certificates in each of these. We have never seen either a visa application, health forms, or any other entry/exit documents that required us to declare a “gender.” We have been asked to declare our sex: male or female.
I should like to know if any one reading this has ever been asked to declare a “gender” on any visa or health, or other documents when entering or exiting any foreign country.
The nine special protection classes extended by sex, race, age, disability, color, creed, national origin, religion, or genetic information (added in 2008), apparently doesn’t cover the transgender identity.
What specific special right are transgender’s after?

If we mean to fight a culture war, then fight it, and you fight it by rejecting transgenderism and calling it the mental disorder that it is.

Transgenderism is nothing more than a form of fraud. Where played straight, such as claiming a false sex on a legally-binding document, it should be prosecuted.
The argument should start with determining if they have standing as TG is not a “sex,” it is a mental disorder. Its like saying a schizophrenic needs sex protection. The court could rock the narrative by rejecting to hear the case entirely.
What specific right are they after?The ability to indoctrinate your children as THEY see fit.
