China's President Orders Military To “Prepare For War”

China’s President Xi Jinping ordered the military region responsible for monitoring the South China Sea and Taiwan to “assess the situation it is facing and boost its capabilities so it can handle any emergency” as tensions continue to mount over the future of the South China Sea and Taiwan, while diplomatic relations between Washington and Beijing hit rock bottom.

The Southern Theatre Command has had to bear a “heavy military responsibility” in recent years, state broadcaster CCTV quoted Xi as saying during an inspection tour made on Thursday as part of his visit to Guangdong province.

“It’s necessary to strengthen the mission … and concentrate preparations for fighting a war,” Xi said. “We need to take all complex situations into consideration and make emergency plans accordingly. “We have to step up combat readiness exercises, joint exercises and confrontational exercises to enhance servicemen’s capabilities and preparation for war” the president-for-life added.

According to the South China Morning Post, Xi’s visit to the military command was one of several he made during a four-day trip to the south China province aimed at bolstering confidence amid an economic slowdown, and growing trade and strategic disputes with the United States.

Xinhua reports President Xi “stressed the need to focus on combat research and commanding, to advance work in all areas and accelerate developing strong and efficient joint-operation commanding institutions for theatre commands to comprehensively boost the military’s battle-winning ability.”

The president instructed the military to ramp-up opposition to ‘freedom of navigation’ exercises being undertaken by the US, Australia, France, the UK, Japan and others through the waterway through which arterial shipping lanes have grown since the end of World War II.

Just what we need now. Time to pull the plug on trade with China. They have nothing of value that we must have other than crap. They have stolen our copyrights and screwed us in currency exchange.

If we cut trade relations with China, who will they steal technology from?

Adding insult to injury, the Chinese have also just removed the ban on importation of rhino horn and elephant tusks. I’ve come to the conclusion that the Chinese are simply insects in human form — termites eating away at the entire globe, heedless of the consequences. Many of the large animals on the Endangered Species List are there because of the sexual insecurities of the Chinese.

Rhino horn (and, I believe tiger gall) are important Chinese medicines for the treatment of ED.

Hasn’t anyone in China even HEARD of Viagra or Cialis?

I bet if they stole THAT technology, they could make those medications a lot cheaper.

Of course they have. But some folks are traditionalists. Heck, even here, we have some determined herbalists who will deny the efficacy of extracted or synthesized medicines, even if they are originally based on organic materials.

I have a very valued made in china digital micrometer that cost $10 bucks and was calibratin checked againist machinist calibration blocks to pe precisely accurate.

I have a small belt sander made in China that is just wonderful. Ditto my small 5” drill press. I have a fake cordless morto tool made in China that is not very good but is cordless.

So, If you buy junk, it is a purchasing error, not a manufacturing error

That reminds me of the story about the country boy who did very well in school and wound up with a scholarship to a prestigious college. He was trying to learn the campus layout when he ran across a professor...”Sir, can you tell me where the library is at?” The professor frowned and said...”Young man! At this school of higher learning we do NOT end our sentences with prepositions!” The country boy nodded and said...”I see. Can you tell me where the library is at...jackass?”
