SpaceX Falcon Heavy and NASA crewed launches will fund BFR development
New Big Future ^ | October 29, 2018 | Brian Wang

Posted on 10/29/2018 11:38:37 PM PDT by SunkenCiv

If SpaceX gets lucky the BFR development costs could come in at the $2 billion low-end estimate. Elon Musk had estimated that it would cost $2 billion to 10 billion to develop. A few more critical successes over the next year will enable SpaceX to solidify the finances and funding for the BFR. The needed critical successes are the NASA crewed launch certification in mid-2019 and successful Falcon Heavy launches in 2019.

SpaceX has pre-sold a moon orbit tourist flight to a Japanese billionaire. This was likely for $500 to $800 million.

The SpaceX Falcon Heavy already has up to seven launches lined up. Commercial and government launch buyers are seeing the value in using the larger rocket to directly place satellites in geosynchronous orbit. Continued launch success in 2019 could bring the Falcon Heavy to five or six launches per year.

SpaceX should become certified for NASA crewed launches in mid-2019. SpaceX will make about $300 million for each of those launches.

The $2 billion lowball estimate for the BFR development must includeIf the SpaceX BFR succeeds on its first orbital like the SpaceX Falcon Heavy, then the cost of BFR development will be in the $2 billion to $2.5 billion range.

Costs would go up if there were challenges completing the final design and construction of the BFR or in the testing phases.

SpaceX is arranging a $500 million loan via Goldman Sachs. SpaceX could afford another $2 billion in loans with firm Falcon Heavy revenue and the NASA crewed launch revenue.

Viasat confirms SpaceX's Falcon Heavy will launch next-gen broadband satellite
Stephen Clark | October 26, 2018 | Spaceflight Now
...The fresh launch deal is the second commercial Falcon Heavy launch contract signed by SpaceX in recent weeks. The Swedish company Ovzon announced Oct. 16 its selection of a Falcon Heavy rocket to haul its first geostationary communications satellite to orbit from Florida's Space Coast as soon as the fourth quarter of 2020.

The Viasat launch agreement with SpaceX for a Falcon Heavy launch was widely anticipated by industry officials. In 2016, Viasat moved the launch of a previous satellite, ViaSat 2, from a Falcon Heavy rocket to a European Ariane 5 launcher, while keeping open the option of putting one of the company's new-generation broadband satellites on a future Falcon Heavy flight...

In a statement announcing the Falcon Heavy contract, Viasat said the SpaceX heavy-lifter will deploy the ViaSat 3 satellite "extremely close" to its final perch in geostationary orbit more than 22,000 miles (nearly 36,000 kilometers) over the equator.

Such a high-altitude satellite deployment will require a coast by the Falcon Heavy's second stage lasting multiple hours before reigniting the upper stage's Merlin engine. SpaceX demonstrated the long-duration flight capability during a six-hour coast between upper stage engine burns on the Falcon Heavy's inaugural test flight Feb. 6, which propelled a Tesla Roadster on a speedy trajectory away from Earth and into the solar system.

Is the Tesla Roadster being tracked? I didn’t see the trajectory details...is it headed out of the solar system or towards the sun?

"SpaceX has pre-sold a moon orbit tourist flight to a Japanese billionaire. This was likely for $500 to $800 million."

There aren't many people with that kind of money out there, who can be hoodwinked into giving away that much money to a shyster... I feel for this dude and his family. The question is... When this 'moon orbit' never transpires and he realizes that he's been taken for the better part of a billion dollars, will a trip to Disney World suffice?

Because a trip to Space Mountain is as close as this dude will ever get to orbiting the moon.

This is an ongoing scam.

It is designed to hide the true shape of the earth, and therefore hide our Creator who designed and created the earth.

It is convenient to its perpetrators in that it allows them to steal taxpayer money while keeping the taxpayer in the dark; even approving of the theft - all in the name of “space.”

Here is the truth:

Water is flat. The earth is flat. That statement of fact can be verified with a laser at ground level. It can be verified with the unaided human eye at any high altitude.

But “NOOOOOOOOO!,” the “globe” earth worshipers say. “We have seen the curve!”

NO, you have NOT!

What you have seen has been through a “fish eye” lens. Everything appears to be curved through a fish eye lens.

Or, it has been CGI.

All illusions, nothing more.

Water in oceans and lakes does NOT curve. Water on the earth is flat wherever you observe it - with your own eyes.

If the water does NOT curve, then neither does the earth. If the earth does not curve, then there is no possibility of achieving an “orbit.” If there is no “orbit,” then all of the “space” agency “news” is propaganda.

Will you wake up and realize that you have been brainwashed? No!

A realization that you have been scammed at this level is too much for you to handle. It is so much easier to ignore it or to mockingly dismiss it - never even once objectively considering the plain statement of fact. To wit:

WATER IS FLAT.

2017 U.S. Auto Sales Totaled 17.25-Million in 2017 - Trucks and SUVs now account for two-thirds of that market.

Tesla says it delivered 101,312 Models S and X globally in 2017, up 33 percent over 2016... EXCEPT!

Tesla Model 3 production reportedly being investigated by the FBI

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is reportedly deepening a criminal investigation into Tesla to determine if the electric automaker misstated production information regarding its Model 3 sedan and thus, misled investors.

Sources reportedly familiar with the matter tell The Wall Street Journal that the investigation is looking back as far as early 2017.

The investigation is being led by the U.S. attorney’s office in San Francisco, the Journal notes, and has intensified in recent weeks.

One of the biggest fake news stories of the past decade (other than climate change) has been the false narrative dispersed throughout the mainstream media that 'Electric' vehicles are the future of automobile sales.

Musk has not only hoodwinked Billionaires, he's hoodwinked the media and politicians into buying into his fanciful dreams... Subsidies have driven the electric car market. Without them, there would be no sales and the only current customers are wealthy people with extra cash to blow... And we're subsidizing them with taxpayers money.

The end is nigh for Musk, for Tesla and sadly for his investors money.

And the question is, what’s on the other side? And how come every other thing we see in space (with our own eyes through a telescope) are spheres?

Didn’t he “buy” an earlier flight that never materialized?

And this trip is for a group rate, not a single passenger.

...

Yes. It’s in a heliocentric orbit between the Earth and a spot out in the Asteroid belt.

Fly at a high enough altitude, one can see the curvature of the earth.

If the earth is flat, where is the end and what happens when one goes there?

All I need do to see that earth is round, not flat, is to look up into the night sky with my unaided eye (no fish-eye lens there) and observe the moon.

Of course this must be done in a place where there is little light pollution, which means that most low-information city dwellers will not be able to do it firsthand.

Observe the moon for a few weeks, every night, and it will be obvious to anyone that the moon is a sphere illuminated by the sun. No lenses or optical tricks are necessary.

Seriously? The flat earth question was resolved thousands of years ago.

Why is it warmer in FL than Minnesota?

Why is the sun at higher elevation closer to the equator?

Why is it dark during for the whole winter above the artic cicle?

Why do the days getting shorter the closer to Dec 23rd, then longer after Dec. 23rd?

If water is flat how come water droplets are round?

What explains the shape of a rain drop?

As I started a search for a good Coriolis effect diagram I realized this might be the case, Even if not it wasn’t worth the effort to try.

Vermont Lt,

Stick to the assertion.

WATER IS FLAT.

phormer,

Your assertion is wrong.

No curvature is observed no matter how high you fly.

Focus on the assertion that WATER IS FLAT.

CurlyDave,

The moon has absolutely nothing to do with the assertion that WATER IS FLAT.

Stop sidetracking.

Deal with the fact that WATER IS FLAT.
