Question: which extreme right-wing news outlet published that defamatory, scare-mongering, headline and report? Infowars? Breitbart? Fox News, perhaps?
Nope. It was . . . The New York Times. The article dates to 1983. But there have been more recent reports of the same problem, as here, here and here. In each article, it is mentioned that the great majority of leprosy cases in the U.S. are diagnosed among immigrants, many from Latin America.

Leishmaniasis (also known as White Leprosy) is not curable and is transported by sandflys that bite infected mammals. It’s spreading from Central America via mass migration. Usually though pets being brought by migrants. It can be stopped by a very painful and nasty procedure, but, all this does is weaken the disease until your body can fight it off.

God didn’t make diseases. Diseases area by-product of the fall. That’s why He commands us to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out devils, to show He is Lord. Light swallows up darkness and life is always greater than death.
