A North Carolina State University professor apologized after handing out a paper that suggested students block Fox News from family members.
When theyre not looking, set the parental controls on the TVs of your family members to block Fox News, the handout said. Fox News spreads bigotry and hatred.
Michaela DeSoucey, a Professor at North Carolina State University handed this paper out to her students, telling them to block Fox News and follow liberal commentators to name a few.

FoxNews is Bigotry! You have to hate them just because of who they are!
FoxNews is Intolerant! They must be driven from the airways!
FoxNews is Hateful! I really, really hate those guys! Especially that Tucker Carlson. I hate his bow tie!
FoxNews is Unsophisticated! And they have stinkypants! And their bycycle is totally lame!
FoxNews is Ties To Special Interests! I have slick printed fliers from Tom Steyer, George Soros, and The Tides Foundation that say so!
FoxNews is a Mouthpiece of the Republican Party! Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Kerry, and about a million other non-partisan people say so constantly on NBC/CBS/ABC/CNN/MSNBC/NYT/WashPo/ etc..
That’s not the worst of what she said in the handout. NCSU needs to fire this moron immediately.
Sounds like a butt that needs to be fired.
Knew in a heartbeat this had to be a liberal arts “math is hard” professor. Too many good engineers at NCSU to be a School of Engineering professor.
Apology my ass, she should be fired and blackballed.
Pull that stunt; you’re out of the will.

Teaching and Research Interests
Culture; Food; Consumer Markets and Politics; Organizational Theory; Identity Movements; Globalization/Localization; Qualitative Methodologies
My research and teaching has centered on how relationships among markets, social movements, and state systems shape the cultural and moral politics of food
PhD in Sociology from Northwestern University, 2010 MA in Sociology from Northwestern University, 2004 BA in Sociology & Anthropology from Swarthmore College, 2000
While they are looking, you parents should cut off your useless kids who are wasting your money studying sociology at NCSU, and make them go out and get a damn job! Maybe that would teach them to respect their elders and stop messing around with the TV!
Seriously, kiddos... Dont screw with the people who are paying your rent, tuition, food plan, credit cards, car payment and insurance, and are providing you with pin money!
Hot for Teacher
I would say that College has turned into High School, but this is too stupid even for High School!
Is she really a PhD, or just assumes the title while facilitating a class?
[Via Google] “Michaela DeSoucey ( @mdesoucey). assistant prof of sociology at NC State: research on culture, markets, food, ...”
Ahhh... an Assistant Professor who is a foodie (in an anthropological sort of way)...
A long time ago I was a military cook, a couple of galleys I was stationed at served 600 to 1200 meals per day, which is nothing compared to Navy cooks onboard CVN’s.
What does Assistant Professor DeSoucey actually know about food? Or does she specialize in blather. She needs to go to a Nimitz class CVN and peel spuds and chop onions for a month... if she could last that long. Or a smaller ship of the line tossing about in the far reaches of the Western Pacific or up in the Bearing Sea. It be a treasure trove of experiences she would always treasure.
Read the last paragraph of the handout.
How did ignoring crimes for sociological theories work for Broward county at Parkland High School?
The corollary to her premise would be that making up crimes for AWW people would balance things out. Maybe she should do some real sociology ( sorry I used real and sociology in the same sentence) and come up with the reasons why subcultures in America value being a subculture over being American. Yes it is tough to be african american, but it is also tough for any group of people who don’t transition into being mainly middle class Americans. And it’s tough for any middle class families that drop back into being poor. ( thanks carteroconomy and obamaconomy). nuff said, oh and fire her being an someone who lacks critical thinking skills and is obviously an idiot who doesn’t study history, even contemporary history. She creates false arguments, saying people compare the shooting at the synagogue to harassing people at restaurants. No I compare it to the attempted assassinations of 24 republican congressman in which 6 people were injured, 3 severely, and only because the presence of 2 police officers prevented the shooter from closing on the representatives and their families and friends and slaughtering them. This would have been the largest political assassination in American history. By a leftist Bernie Sanders supporter. Unlike the shooting in pittsburg, It wasn’t inspired by Nazi propaganda and the anti jewish diatribes of arab friendly media. No, it was inspired by the media who write about Donald Trump as if he is worse than Hitler. The shooter in Pennsylvania even wrote about how Trump was overly influenced by Jews. Hmmm where did he get that idea? stepping off the soapbox.
Fire the Idiot.
She is kinda cute, just saying...
Another thing, isn’t that old-fashioned Carolina pig roast in the background of that pic? She strikes me as a militant vegan food Nazi type.
That just shows how dedicated to her academic field of study she is!
There were no nearby cannibal tribes living in grass huts to study, so she bravely ventured into the unknown to observe a Pig Pickin'.
When I was in graduate school in engineering at NCSU in the early 90s nearly all of the professors were left leaning. It didnt come up in class, however.
Apology? Not nearly enough. All is war now. She should be harassed in class, followed into restaurants and treated like Sarah Saunders, accosted in grocery stores, etc. They want to remake America; America should remake her.
