Former President Barack Obama is hitting the campaign trail in the final days before the midterm elections, stumping for Democratic candidates in critical races in states such as Illinois, Georgia and Florida. Obama has ramped up his campaign appearances in recent weeks.
The case Obama is making is somewhat similar to one that President Trump has made in his rallies, on the importance of voting in the midterm elections even though neither man is on the ballot. It's not unusual for former presidents to make campaign appearances after their tenure. But Obama is campaigning against Mr. Trump's agenda and Republican candidates less than two years after he left office, a departure from a historical norm in which former presidents tend to avoid openly criticizing their successors.
Although former President George W. Bush has quietly campaigned for Republican candidates this year, and former President Bill Clinton campaigned for Democrats in 2012, most stay out of the spotlight in their first years of retirement.
In his first campaign appearance in Chicago, Illinois, on Sept. 7, Obama said that he had not openly criticized Mr. Trump because he was "intent on following a wise American tradition of ex-presidents gracefully exiting the political stage and making room for new voices and new ideas." However, he added, "this is one of those pivotal moment when every one of us, as citizens of the United States, need to determine just who it is that we are, just what it is that we stand for."
"As a fellow citizen, not as an ex-president but as a fellow citizen, I am here to deliver a simple message, and that is that you need to vote because our democracy depends on it," he said.

A former USURPER !!
“As a fellow citizen
I’m not even sure about that part ............
Trying to save his POS legacy.
“...a departure from a historical norm in which former presidents tend to avoid openly criticizing their successors.”
That’s because Zero has no class.
Hussein on the campaign trail is a certain indicator of panic
If Bush had behaved like this toward The Anointed One the media would have melted down.
... and was elected based on the color of his skin, not the content of his character.
Candidates generally don’t flip the bird at campaign rallies or show off their erections on their private planes either... Obama was always a low class piece of crap...But the press would cover for him... so it didn’t matter.
Bath-house Barry’s trying to keep his ass out of prison.
Not really a surprise for the bottom feeding I-Me 0bama, he's just setting another new low record for RATs to shoot for.
The photo of the “crowd” that attended one of Obama’s recent campaign stops is quite telling.
The photo is taken from behind the speakers podium and you see a pretty empty gym. Not to many folks are fired up to see the former president.
Like all Democrats, he is too small to do the right thing.
Is someone really surprised that Obama’s acting like a low-life, classless piece of excrement? News flash: HE AIN’T ACTING!
The presence of OBotulism is like having a turd in the punch bowl. Smelly and unwanted.
“That is...uh....not who we are.”
Can’t you just hear that miserable prick’s voice in your head with his weird sing-song cadence, odd pronunciations, and pretensions>. I don’t think I’ve hated another human as much as I hate that vile POS.
I’m with you on this. Hillary comes pretty close.
I’m happy to see him on the campaign trail for Andrew and Bill.
Everything 0bama touches turns to shit.
