Six San Diego-area military bases will be used to assist at border for Operation Faithful Patriot

Six military bases in San Diego County will be used as logistics hubs for supplies and troops to help with securing the Southwest border following President Trump’s announcement Wednesday that he would deploy as many as 15,000 military personnel in response to caravans of Central American migrants making their way northward.

Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Naval Air Station North Island (Coronado), Naval Base San Diego and Naval Base Point Loma as well as Naval Air Station El Centro will participate in the deployment named Operation Faithful Patriot, officials said

“They have been identified as base support installations – staging areas for troops, for helicopters to land and supplies to be distributed,” said Air Force Capt. Lauren Hill at Northern Command in Colorado.

Military troops will help with planning, engineering, transportation, logistics and medical support to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, according to the Northern Command statement.

tary troops will help with planning, engineering, transportation, logistics and medical support to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, according to the Northern Command statement.

Tasks will include erecting temporary vehicle barriers and fencing and installing light towers, barbed wire and concertina wire. Temporary housing and meals will be provided and medical personnel would be deployed as needed for patient care, the statement said.

The new 15,000-troop figure doubles the number Pentagon officials have announced would be operating along the entire border with Mexico.

“We’ll go up to anywhere between 10 and 15,000 military personnel on top of Border Control, ICE and everybody else at the border,” Trump said before departing Washington for a campaign rally in Florida. “Nobody’s coming in. We’re not allowing people to come in.”

Cali. Gov. Moonbeam openly weeps:

"Here are the facts: there is no massive wave of migrants pouring into California. Overall immigrant apprehensions on the border last year were as low as they’ve been in nearly 50 years (and 85 percent of the apprehensions occurred outside of California)."

— Jerry Brown on Wednesday, April 11th, 2018 in a letter to the Trump administration

My granddaughter left for San Diego this morning for a Bio Med Convention with her peers from Brown University.

She's on crutches and also uses a wheel chair, recovering for a damaged tibia....from rock climbing.

But she's determined to give her presentation as planned months ago.

Please say a little prayer for her today...for health and success.

Yes...of course we tried to talk her out of it...but everyone cleared her...and off she went!!

God, I love that kid.

Very good. Put them in California. When the left screams, invite them to put up their homes, businesses, money and facilities to provide for the illegals. You have a mansion with empty rooms? Fine. House them. An extra bed? Your turn. LA complains? San Francisco? Take them in. Nancy Pelosi has enough room to erect camps on her vineyards. And enough of her millions to support them.

schools? What about LA.

The question lefties ask: ‘Is the US military really going to take on poor Latino families?’

The question logical persons ask: ‘Are poor Latino families really going to take on the US military?’

Re: https://www.militarytimes.com/news/your-military/2018/10/31/federal-law-limits-what-us-troops-deployed-at-the-border-can-do/

"Troops will not be allowed to detain immigrants, seize drugs from smugglers or have any direct involvement in stopping the migrant caravan...

Essentially, our troops will support our Border Patrol but they can do nothing directly to stop the invaders.

We need to drastically change our immigration, birthright and refugee laws to remove all incentive for the foreign invasion that our government has allowing. Unfortunately, that's unlikely to happen with a divided Congress.

Would the President's declaration of a national emergency for the purpose of national security give federal troops the power and action they need to stop the invaders?

If these invaders are being funded by Soros and/or other Americans, can these American scum be arrested for creating lawlessness ?

Headed to San Diego next week. Will get first hand info from my family in TJ. I’m sure CA is pretty secure. AZ is needing more help along with NM and TX.

Yes the CA part of the border near San Diego is about as secure as it gets for its entire stretch. If the caravan is really headed there then the organizers are more interested in creating a media event than crossing.

ROE are not stagnant, rules can change if the situation necessitates.

“Troops will not be allowed to detain immigrants, seize drugs from smugglers or have any direct involvement in stopping the migrant caravan...”

Troops can’t engage them, but their equipment (barriers, concertina, etc.) can spot & block them.

As long as they can defend themselves without going up the chain of command to the Pentagon, I’m cool........... for now.

BTW, glad this is a USMC operation. Semper fi, do or die, Hoorah.

This is the price of illegal acceptance as here’s what we do know. Approximately one in five federal inmates are illegally in the country. According to the anti-immigration group Federation for American Immigration Reform, using data gathered from the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program, 12.9 percent of all state and local prisoners in California were illegal immigrants as of 2009. That number is significantly higher than illegal immigrants as percentage of the population. Furthermore, according to FAIR, illegal immigration costs the state of California some $23 billion per year.

The state’s burgeoning homelessness crisis hasn’t been aided by additional illegal immigration, either. In mid-2017, The Los Angeles Times reported that Latino homelessness had risen 63 percent over the prior year in Los Angeles County – and a significant percentage of those homeless were illegally in the country.

We also know that illegal immigration has come with serious costs in terms of gang violence. MS-13 is not a myth; there are some 10,000 members in the United States, and last May, 21 members of the gang were arrested in Los Angeles, more than half illegal immigrants. From 2005-2007, ICE made thousands of arrests of MS-13 members in the state. The 18th Street Gang counts somewhere from 30,000 to 50,000 members in the United States; again, a significant percentage of that population is in the country illegally.

This is not meant to suggest that illegal immigrants are a criminal threat on a broad level. It is meant to suggest that it is deeply irresponsible for California to refuse to cooperate with the federal authorities or to downplay data that could save lives.

The state of California obviously has the right to refuse to act as agents of the federal government for immigration purposes. But it seems that Democrats in California are eager to move even beyond that strategy: Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf allegedly warned illegal immigrants of an impending ICE raid, an open attempt to aid and abet illegal immigration itself.

This may help Democrats win elections, but it puts California taxpayers on the hook for costs, both criminal and civil – and it leaves voters without the proper information to make judgments on the efficacy of policy. If Democrats are going to claim that illegal immigration is an unalloyed good, at the very least they must provide us the data to show it is. Otherwise, they’re simply lying by omission in order to manipulate and create voters.

The Game of October Surprises----Enter Trump’s October move.
Gary Gindler Chronicles ^ | November 1, 2018 | Gary Gindler / FR Posted by WWII_Historian

--snip-- Trump's immigration surprise has been prepared for several months. A week before midterms, Pres Trump announces that he is preparing an E/O that children of illegals born in the US will not automatically obtain American citizenship. It will be given only to those whose parents are in the United States legally.....includes only American citizens and legal residents. At the same time, Trump no longer needs to rush the E/O. His goal is political.

Trump knows that 2/3 of Americans support his decision, and he is well aware that a long-term legal battle awaits; Democrats will defend the interests of immigrants rather than Americans.Trump is not interested in the decisions of the American courts. It is quite possible that he will even lose in the courts. However, the White House understands that you need to win the mid-term elections first, and then deal with legal issues.

Trump's immediate goal is not a game of immigration and intellectual tug-of-war with the Democrats and the courts, but the November mid-terms. (Excerpt) Read more at garygindler.com ...

They should move some military bases to the border. Put an Airforce base in the middle, Two Army bases midway between the middle and the ocean, and two Navy bases at the ends. (San Diego is fine.) Make them all really skinny, like one mile wide and 20 miles long.

Then what they should do is to move personnel from blue states, close a couple bases in say, Massachusetts or Rhode Island. Nixon did it. Trump can too. Call it Trump’s revenge.
