Washington, DC, Dould Let 16 Year Olds Vote for President

The Washington, D.C., City Council is preparing to vote on a bill to lower the voting age to 16 for all elections, both local and federal.

WTOP-FM reports the bill won 3-0 approval in the Judiciary and Public Safety committee Thursday and will get a final vote before the full council this month. The 26th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees citizens 18 and older the right to vote, but scholars have said it doesn't prevent a state, or in this case, the nation's capital, from setting a lower age.

Council member Charles Allen says his bill will "enfranchise the District's young people and bring their voices into the political process."

When democrats watched how easy it was to get school kids marching with David Hogg and manipulate their thoughts, the reality of what they could do with a national election got them salivating and climaxing at once.

I would be willing to go down to 13 years old, but you’d have to pass a civics test prior to that, and pass a 100-question test. That might disqualify most folks for the rest of their life.

Democrat brainstorming session
liberal 1: Adults aren’t buying our BS any more
liberal 2: Maybe we should consider new ideas
liberal 3: We need to let kids vote

The adolescent brain is different, not fully mature, and they should NOT be allowed to vote even if they COULD pass a civics test.

“DC is not a state”

The Constitution applies to D.C.

When I was 16 I was smart enough to know how to vote, but not smart enough to know who to vote for. I had too many ideas that just weren’t correct & I can see it now. Nowadays, with all the influences the young kids are getting in schools,I sure don’t want 16 yr. old kids voting. Actually, increasing the voting age would make more sense.
