Cruz suggests O’Rourke campaign funds being used for 'people coming here illegally'

Sen. Ted Cruz (R) suggested on Friday that staffers working for his opponent in the Texas Senate race, Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D), were using campaign funds to help "people coming here illegally."

Cruz also called on O'Rourke to say whether he supported allowing a migrant of caravans to "cross illegally" into Texas.

"I thought it was a joke, until video broke this morning of his campaign staffers taking campaign money and apparently using it to give to people coming here illegally," Cruz said in a speech, according to a clip posted by a Cruz campaign official on Friday.

"There are radicals on the left who want to tear down our laws," he added. "By the way, Beto has not answered a simple question: Should we allow this caravan to cross illegally into the state of Texas?"

The senator was referring to a video from conservative activist organization Project Veritas claiming to show O'Rourke staffers using campaign funds to help migrants.

Project Veritas frequently targets Democrats and other left-leaning organizations through undercover videos but has often faced accusations of selectively editing videos to drive a point.

The Hill is being political and not “reporting”, not doing a professional journalist’s job, but editorializing.

It is NOT a matter of “Cruz suggests”, because any respectable journalist worthy of the title could have and would have reviwed the Project Veritas video, confirmed the persons in it and reported THAT, as not what “Cruz suggests” but as what Cruz revealed. That would be “reporting”.

Pretty stunning that the Beto campaign was illegally using campaign funds to provide financial aid to human traffickers, and cartel coyotes for the purpose of assisting foreign nationals crossing the the border illegally

Aside from being a serious campaign law violation, it’s also a criminal act and probably a felony

Most disturbing is the motivation.

Either Beto and his campaign are colluding with the staging of the Caravan for political gain in the upcoming election or they are so pro illegal immigration that are willingly violating campaign finance laws to part of the Caravan

Ted Cruz is one of only a handful of GOP Senators that has sided with the citizens and the rule of law.

Most of the Senate GOP are Bush League Republicans who are responsible for having 30 million illegal aliens here already and more on their way.

We MUST replace the Bush League Republicans in the next two cycles if we want to keep our country.

Graham and Alexander in 2020.

. Finally at least someone is reporting it.

The only reason leftists cover stuff outside their templates is because of widespread coverage in conservative media. They post only to offer counter spin.

What’s stunning is the naivete of these brain-dead campaign-worker kids that hatched this up. All of them 19 - 25 years old, thinking they are great humanitarians helping these poor oppressed migrants break into the country. Discussing how to cover it up, and in the end not even caring if they broke the law. Complete idiots. Of course the director woman was just fine with it, and no doubt Beto was fine with the idea, even if he may not have known about this specifically.

But the tape is damning, no question about it. Project Veritas has done an excellent job again of exposing this crap. If you haven’t yet seen the video it is 23 minutes long and this is the link to youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJCG_JckSF8

(Hopefully someone can make this clickable? I've just wasted 15 minutes trying LOL)

You are exactly right, Cruz’z statement is backed up by a Veritas video. The Hill long ago quit being a news organization and became just another leftist outlet. Very little of what they have to say is balanced any more — not worth reading.
