Polis: 'That's what my plan to do as Governor is'..
Rep. Jared Polis, the Democratic nominee for governor of Colorado, suggested that he would support criminal penalties for employers who violate the state's labor laws.
...
we propose adding real criminal penalties to violations of our labor laws. That's when executives and businesses will notice it. When they don't see it as a cost of doing business, but they see it as "Wait a minute, I could go to prison for doing wrong by the workers, and wage theft, or for firing somebody for retribution." So we can do that here in Colorado.
We can really push the envelope in making sure we are serious. As serious about enforcing our labor laws as we are about so many of our other laws. So that's what my plan to do as Governor is. I look forward to working with the legislature to get working on these bills and making sure we take implementation and enforcement seriously at all levels, and support workers when they choose to organize.

Gail Lindley, owner of Denver Bookbinding, which has been in business for 90 years, said Polis's comments were irresponsible.
...
"Most small businesses are mom and pop' type. That's the basis of our economy. And to even propose that criminal time be served is ludicrous. Irresponsible, ludicrous, and it just makes me think he's on a power trip."
...
Polis has long been ranked as one of the 10 wealthiest persons in Congress

How about for hiring illegals?
Bolshevik.
What about a state job? Jail the governor??
Wow, that will prompt a whole mass exodus of companies.
For real.
Great idea, there, bucko.
The idiot voters in Boulder and the Denver suburbs will vote him in.
Despite his wealth hes nothing like Trump and his claim to be a budget deficit hawk is hogwash.
What an A-hole...
Say anything to get a vote
Hes buying himself the governorship just like hes bought everything else.
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
As long as it includes hiring undocumented workers I’m good with it. Obey the law. All laws.
I voted no to all the new taxes.
Sadly, people today are inured to paying more for government and getting less from it in return.
I spoke to an elderly liberal lady the other day and asked her what she thought of Polis having a “husband” and adopted child. She said I must be kidding. She had never heard about it. But she had already voted for him. The Dems know how to keep certain things quiet just before an election.

Yer damned right.
A fag couple. A Colorado first. Ugh.
Polismoker. Way worse than Chickenpooper.
He’s willing to make an exception there since he doesn’t like that law
I always vote against new taxes.
No new or increased taxes, no changes to the constitution, and NO for anyone with a “D” after their names.
The real problem is that it looks like Colorado will become a one party state like california.
I voted against the redistricting change.
I want liberals put in charge of drawing state legislative and congressional boundaries.
No thanks.
