UNSC Resolution 2231 is invalid since there is no JCPOA. And what exactly are “legitimate commercial exchanges” with a terrorist nation?

The way the U.S. has structured it’s economic sanctions against Iran, EU companies have a simple choice: either do business with Iran or with the U.S. ... there’s no choice for doing business with both under U.S. sanction rules ...

Well, they’re not the ones being demonized as the great Satan or whose death is constantly called for the past 40 years.

More B.S. from the E.U.

This isn’t about protecting innocent Iranian businesses, this IS about protecting the ability of the E.U. to make money by having the ability to have business transactions with businesses in Iran.

I think the minute that the general public in Europe realizes that their politicians (in order to fall on their sword) will have to come up with 100 to 200 billion Euro a year in increased taxes to cover the impact on business interest...the public will freak out.

The heart of the matter goes back to the open door that President Obama created for this massive business boom that Europe expected with open trade with Iran. Airbus and Boeing alone....expected roughly $40-billion worth of trade over five years. Everyone calculated a massive amount of income being generated.

Hungary’s Orban has emphasized boosting cordial Turkish relations last month and has touted boosting Iranian relations in the past...wonder what his stance on these sanctions are.

A few years ago, Italy and Germany were Iran’s two main trading partners. Don’t know where that stands today, but it’s likely the same. Might remind some folks of World War 2.
