Obama’s CIA Secretly Intercepted Congressional Communications About Whistleblowers
Fortis Connect ^ | 11-3-2018 | Sharyl Attkisson

Posted on 11/02/2018 10:23:19 PM PDT by blam

The intercepts occurred under CIA Director John Brennan and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. The new disclosures are contained in two letters of “Congressional notification” originally written to key members of Congress in March 2014, but kept secret until now.

In the letters, then-Intelligence Community Inspector General Charles McCullough tells four key members of Congress that during “routing counterintelligence monitoring of Government computer systems,” the CIA collected emails between Congressional staff and the CIA’s head of whistleblowing and source protection. McCullough states that he’s concerned “about the potential compromise to whistleblower confidentiality and the consequent ‘chilling effect’ that the present [counterintelligence] monitoring system might have on Intelligence Community whistleblowing.”

The idea that the CIA would monitor communications of U.S. government officials, including those in the legislative branch, is itself controversial. But in this case, the CIA picked up some of the most sensitive emails between Congress and intelligence agency workers blowing the whistle on alleged wrongdoing.

John Brennan, former Obama CIA Director and Homeland Security Adviser

“Most of these emails concerned pending and developing whistleblower complaints,” McCullough states in his letters to lead Democrats and Republicans on the House and Senate Intelligence Committees at the time: Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-California) and Saxby Chambliss (R-Georgia); and Representatives Michael Rogers (R-Michigan) and Dutch Ruppersberger (D-Maryland). McCullough adds that the type of monitoring that occurred was “lawful and justified for [counterintelligence] purposes” but

“I am not confident that Congressional staff fully understood that their whistleblower-related communications with my Executive Director of whistleblowing might be reviewed as a result of routine [CIA counterintelligence] monitoring.”–Intelligence Community Inspector General 2014

The disclosures from 2014 were released late Thursday by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).

Obama conducted an 8-year war against whistleblowers the like of which has never been seen before in the USA. That is one of the many things for which he has yet to be held accountable.

A quick flashback. Knowing what we now know about the Deep State and weaponization of the intelligence community, does anyone still believe it was John and Alice Martin who intercepted Newt’s conversation? Remember these two had what they called a “hobby”. Just riding around with a Radio Shack scanner, that just happened to be attached to a recording device, just having fun and seeing what they could pick up. Was a ridiculous story then, an obvious one now.

I’m not at all surprised. The Obama admin hated dissent. And we now know they were not at all shy about wiretapping and scheming to anoint Hillary at any price. Brennan makes me seethe and the whole Russia-collusion thing is such obvious projection. We the people deserve justice, we cannot let the FBI off the hook for what they did. And I say, the FBI was corrupted and thus the immunity deals they struck with Hillary’s allies were obstruction of justice and should be revoked. Besides which there is plenty of evidence against them even if you remove their testimony from the record.

I would too if I was the CIA. Why wouldn’t you? All Congress ever does is bluster and stomp their feet. Maybe get Gowdy to say something scornful.
I’d flip em the finger and spy on them too!

Congress could solidly sodomize the CIA anytime they so chose. They could defund them on a 50% vote. They could impeach the director of the CIA. They could literally abolish it with a 50% vote.

But they don’t. People will do what you let them get away with. You train people how to treat you.

Democrats have used every aspect of the federal government in a war against conservatives and this Constitutional Republic. I'm amazed that we've survived and have Donald Trump.

He may turn out to be a important to the USA as some of the founding fathers.

MAGA!

Odd they didn’t pick up on Aman and Debbie Wassleman Schlitz, (D-FL).

So how interested were they really in “*legal* counter intelligence”? Probably manufacturing intelligence and sticking it where they wanted it and ignoring the real treason blowing up all around them. Oh! They were IT!

Who knew?

Will President Trump tweet about this over the weekend? Seems like this could be of use in the mid-terms. This is what happens when you have Democrats heading up your intelligence services.

Not to mention that it’s illegal for the CIA to do ANY spying inside the USA, much less spy ON congress.

This is all so depressing on so many levels.

We literally have witnessed an ongoing coup d’etat involving the DOL/FBI against Trump & aside from a few journalists & some late night talking head shows on FOX NEWS the public really does not grasp the significance of it.

I feel such a sense of unreality surrounding this entire situation....things in the body politic are so far gone in the republic that it boggles the mind.

“Routine monitoring”? Because they were spying on all our elected reps already as it was.

“The Obama administration has so much to be accountable for.”

Obama’s ongoing overt/covert meddling just adds to the list. And no thanks to the media, that’s the part we’re only minimally aware.

#11. Just for shits and grins, it wasn’t whistleblowing that Debbie was doing with Aman. Drop the “whistle” and you’ll get my drift.

New documentary coming out next year on Little Debby. Going to be titled “Little Debbie Does Awan” (aka “Debby Loves His Pak”).

She should be in jail but in a separate section. I understand that GITMO is nice at this time of the year.

extrapolating, we can safely surmise that all 17 Republican candidates were surveiled. In fact the Trump Surveilance was rather late in the game
