Way-way-wait a minute. Slaves were expensive, valuable, trusted members of the household who were acknowledged to be crucial to the survival of home and business. They were involved in the most critical work of families and businesses, ranging from field work to farm management to cooking for the household and laborers to bookkeeping to hairdressing to caring for their masters' own children.
Slaves were also recognized as children of God with souls that would go to Heaven or hell, and were baptized and brought to church and revival meetings--which they attended with great enthusiasm and learned the faith and Scots-Irish hymns of their masters, developing Gospel music from it.
People who take part, actively or by assent, to the killing of babies are simply enemies of our civilization, exploiting it for their own selfish purposes--like Attila or Genghis Khan. Just ask them. Listen to what their great theorists freely say about the place of families, God, country, morality, and civil society. People like that place the value of newborns at the level, not of slaves, but of trash. Wait, I'm sorry--they class babies below trash, since trash is something they "recycle," because they cannot bear to throw it away.

You mistook that statement. Slaves were human beings and not to be treated as animals or less.
Many Southerners and a heck of a lot Northerners felt slaves were non-beings and on property. That was the point I was making.
The owners of Slaves who mistreated their slaves, and yes, it did happen...failed to follow Biblical admonishment...they forgot they have a Master in Heaven to whom they are accountable for in their treatment of all God’s creatures, among them being humans....
That professor was thinking like those Southerners and those Northerners.
Unfortunately, those who kill babies or approve of that action think of those babies as non-human...or they have chosen to present them as non-human in an effort to make it acceptable to kill babies.
