It is probably simpler than your scenario. Ford first talked about Kavanaugh in 2012 according to her husband. At that time Kavanaugh was #2 on the short list of judges that Romney would likely nominate for the USSC. She did lie in 2018, IMO, and pass the lie detector test. But that's because she had been rehearsing the Kavanaugh story for six years.
My question was “rhetorical.” The left is the enemy of truth. Their only constraint is whatever they can get away with.
Ford and her team of deceivers must be held accountable.
This comes out just after Kavanaugh donated his GoFund Me acct to charity. So I guess fear of prosecution is not high.

There should have been a vigorous investigation to get to the truth of the hoax. There are still a lot of women who believe that Ford was a victim of Kavanaugh and are mad at Trump for dissing her. This affects the elections!

The parents may have been judges, and lawyers, and lobbyists but their kids didn’t delve into politics. Most internships on capital Hill were envelope stuffing. And no one wanted those jobs. The kids in high school wanted the lifeguard jobs at the country club or neighborhood pools.

The dems used the “ unprovable” option and she was proved to be full of it by even her own witnesses not supporting and now this revelation shows a potential basis for her to come up with a story to sell in hopes of destroying Kavanaugh.
