Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin blasted "Saturday Night Live" creator and producer Lorne Michaels after a comic on the show made fun of a Texas GOP congressional candidate who lost an eye serving in Afghanistan.
Comedian Pete Davidson joked about retired Navy SEAL Dan Crenshaw's eye patch, saying he looks like a pirate in a pornographic film.
Davidson, 24, giggled afterwards, saying, "Sorry. I know he lost his eye in war, or whatever."
While Crenshaw said Monday on "Fox & Friends" that he would not demand an apology from Davidson or the show, Palin fired back at Michaels on Facebook.
"With all the grace I can muster I challenge you to wrestle back control of the show you’d shepherded, but allowed to be hijacked by some pretty sick - and boringly uncreative - young men," she said of Michaels, 73.
"You’re going down with the ship, Lorne. Sad to see your life’s work and worth crumble under the heartless no-talents."

A congressional candidate in Texas was mocked over his appearance during a segment on "Saturday Night Live."
Comedian Pete Davidson was giving his "first impressions" of some candidates ahead of Tuesday's midterm elections during the show's "Weekend Update."
He said that there are "some gross people" running and mockingly described Gov. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) and Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.), among others.
Davidson then gave his description of Dan Crenshaw (R), who lost his right eye in an IED blast in Afghanistan.

Crenshaw is a retired lieutenant commander who had a 10-year career in the Navy SEALs.
"You may be surprised to hear [Crenshaw is] a Congressional candidate from Texas and not a hit man in a porno movie," Davidson said on Saturday.

Crenshaw served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, where he lost his right eye and severely damaged his left in the deadly Helmand province after encountering an improvised explosive device six years ago.
Doctors said he'd never see again, but Crenshaw regained sight in his left eye after undergoing several surgeries and receiving specialized contact lenses. Four months later, fitted with a glass eye and his signature eye patch, Crenshaw was back on the shooting range in Mississippi, training to rejoin his teammates.
"What makes me get up in the morning is knowing I'm doing something for the country and I was not ready to quit that," Crenshaw told the Free Beacon in January of last year. "I think this is why I'm driven to Congress now, because it's another path I can take to make a positive impact on people's lives and serve in a way that is meaningful and push for values that I believe in."
Crenshaw is favored to win the November 6 general election against Democrat Todd Litton in Texas's heavily Republican 2nd congressional district.

Texas Republican candidate Dan Crenshaw, a retired Navy SEAL, responded Monday on "Fox & Friends" to a "Saturday Night Live" comedian mocking the injuries he suffered in Afghanistan.
Crenshaw, who lost his right eye in a 2012 IED attack, said it was "pretty inappropriate" for Pete Davidson to mock his appearance during the show's "Weekend Update" segment Saturday.
"You may be surprised to hear [Crenshaw is] a Congressional candidate from Texas and not a hit man in a porno movie," Davidson joked, a reference to the eye patch worn by Crenshaw over his right eye. ..."
"Why can't we just be funny again?" he asked. "What happened to our comedy in this country? Why can't we give the American people a break and separate comedy from politics?"

Saturday Night Live was ALWAYS political. It NEVER separated politics from “comedy”, and despite lampooning Slick Willy, it has always been a far left outfit.
