Now Rihanna forbids Trump from using her songs at rallies

After Pharrell, Rihanna has objected to US President Donald Trump using her music at his campaign rallies ahead of the midterms.

The singer took to Twitter to protest after she learnt that her hit track "Don't Stop the Music" was reportedly played at a campaign rally Sunday for Republican Senate candidate Marsha Blackburn in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Rihanna was tipped off by Washington Post White House bureau chief Philip Rucker.

"(Neither) me nor my people would ever be at or around one of those tragic rallies. Thanks for the heads up Philip (sic)!" she tweeted her reply to Rucker.

The development comes after Rihanna endorsed Florida Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum on Instagram.

Last week, Pharrell Williams sent a cease-and-desist notice to Trump after his popular track "Happy" was played at the US president's political rally, the same day of the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting.

Other artistes who have forbidden the POTUS to using their music include Neil Young, Adele, Elton John, the Rolling Stones, Queen, George Harrison, Luciano Pavarotti, Steven Tyler and Prince.

The music seemed out of place to begin with.

I've never heard of her. Rihanna? Is that Trump's cleaning lady?

I’d rather listen to Lee Greenwood anyway.

As long as they pay the applicable. ASCAP fees, the artists can say all they want— they cannot stop them. Of course Trump could not use it as an endorsement, but he can play the music all he wants.

Surely the campaign and the venues have current valid licenses. Trump should play ONLY songs on the “he hate me” list

You can play copyrighted music in the public domain as long as you secure permission from the artist and pay appropriate royalty fees.

George Harrison and Luciano Pavarotti are dead. Did someone hold a seance and get a complaint?

I understand that as long as the musicians are paid for Trump or anyone else using their songs under fair use procedures, there is nothing they can do.

"Rihanna was tipped off by Washington Post White House bureau chief Philip Rucker."

Just thing about what kind of MSM puke would spend time stirring up this crap rather than reporting objectively on *real* issues facing America. Oh, right, the kind of Mediascum puke who would be "White House bureau chief" for WaPo. Unbelievable how scummy these MSM reporterettes are. Who CARES what Rihanna thinks about a song of hers playing at a rally? Really, WHO CARES? Oh, right, the Philip Puckers of the world, they care.

My understanding is that many of these songs are covered by blanket licenses that the venues have with the music industry. In any case, unless any of these leftist pukes can point to a LEGAL issue with the Trump rallies using their music, they can just #### off. THey get their “artist” licensing fees and they can whine all they like.

Rihanna doesn’t write her own music, produce it or even own it. So there ain’t nuttin you kin do about it, Missy! Deal with it, and go buy yourself a hamburger.

This little performance of ‘being real mad’ is meant to please her most likely customers. She figures they would feel better knowing that Rihanna is ‘upset and unhappy’ at the president using her recordings. They’ll give her a lot of likes on Facebook.
Some of her fans may even buy some of Rihanna’s merchandise she sells under her real last name.”Fenty”. Clothing, shoes, cosmetics. The works.
