Exactly.

Every tine I hear “well we just can’t find anybody” my first question is “how much are you offering?”. Followed by “maybe we should try paying more”. Not a popular sentiment with upper management though.

I've been getting daily email from a couple of recruiters offering a really low ball pay for a "hot" job. They just don't seem to realize they won't get experienced engineers for less pay than my company pays for recent college graduates. Any my company aims to be about median or a little less on pay.
