He’ll be forever kneecapped by refusing to endorse Trump at the convention. That was the high water mark of his political career, whether he knows it or not.

I heard the victory speech on the radio. Ted sounded angry and overwrought. Not a bit of happy in his voice.

My guess is, he was still wired from stress over his slim margin of victory.

Should spend a full 5 minutes kissing Trump’s rear.

Yes, droning Ted should use his speech to personally thank those Texans who swallowed their anger and disgust with him for his performance at the convention and pulled the lever for him.

Good speech, but he didn't thank or mention Trump 🤔

Cruz squeaking out a victory over some jackoff liberal is a result of Trump fatally wounding him in 2016. He was raped in public and now no man can look him in the face. If Republicans in Texas are smart they’ll make sure he gets retired.

That's a fact. Folks also won't soon forget all the other eyebrow raising moments of his campaign, either.

If he weren't such a reliable conservative, Texas would have a new senator tonight.

Good catch. I hadn't even noticed.

it wasn’t as weird/creepy as his Iowa speech, but that would have been impossible.

learn your lesson, ted. you almost got beat by a human zero.

MOST in the media are absolutely clueless-tonight was a massive win 4 DJT & the ppl he campaigned 4-remember btwn the House & Senate Obama lost 69 seats, Clinton lost 60 seats-the democrats winning the house is meaningless - stay tuned for my analysis on radio & TV. And it’s idiots that still hold that grudge that will end up giving a solid conservative seat away to a left wing lunatic down the road.

Why would he? The real problem is the avalanche of hatred Trump brought upon him. That almost bit Trump on the ass with the loss of Cruz’s seat. Cruz wasn’t born with a silver spoon. He doesn’t need this crap. It looks like his presidential hopes are over. He should just resign and let whomever the GOP manages to recruit compete with Beto for the seat. Maybe he/she will do better. Cruz could certainly make big bucks as a corporate lawyer. And his wife would certainly have more career choices once he’s out of politics.

Bad news. Again, Cruz fails to acknowledge Trump at the expected moment to do so. Apparently Golden Sacks still has some influence on him.

But he did defeat Beto with the gazillions the Dems spent trying to get Beto elected.

My bet is Beto will run again in 2020. And this time, he will knock Cornyn off. Texas is getting increasingly Hispanic. Demographics is destiny. All the border state Republicans who were soft on border issues to cater to business interests reliant on the welfare state industrial complex are now starting to get eaten alive at the polling booth. Greg Abbott defeated Abortion Barbie by 21% in 2014. He beat the even nuttier Lupe Valdez by only 13% this year despite incumbents generally garnering bigger victory margins.
