Lawyers for migrant caravan members give them stark advice: ‘It’s going to be difficult’
FOX ^ | November 7, 2018 | William La Jeunesse

MEXICO CITY – The park hosting some 7,000 migrants looks like something out of a renaissance fair, with small tents giving shoes or offering a host of services, like dental work, medical care, telephones, haircuts, food and, perhaps the most important product – legal advice.

...outside the Institute for Women in Migration... a circle around U.S. attorney Anna Joseph...

“We are telling them it’s going to be difficult,” she said. "... this administration is not amenable to asylum, so even though many have legitimate claims, they’re going to be up against a very tough system due to orders from above.”

“Above” means President Trump. It’s ironic, that a group diametrically opposed to the president's immigration policies is indirectly helping make his case. Trump wants the caravan to turn around, promising to unleash military assets and potentially amend asylum laws to stop their entry. Yet, Joseph’s advice is the first concrete, straight-forward and honest assessment of the situation many received in weeks.

After hearing some of the migrants’ individual stories, Joseph suggested some might reconsider their dreams of living in the U.S.

“A lot depends on how the administration decides to address the situation and the role of the military,” she said. “there is already a wait of over 1,000 people in Tijuana.” She said legal advisers are not trying to deter people, “but trying to give them options and information.”...[snip]

Forgiveness isn't part of asylum law, which tends to be rigid and has become more so under AG Sessions. Unlike the Obama administration, which tweaked the rules to allow for claims of domestic and gang violence, the Trump administration returned to the original statutory language, which only allows non-citizens to remain... if they can establish a credible fear of persecution based on race, religion, political thought, nationality or social class....[snip]

Lots of them are claiming they will split from the horde when they get near our border.

Why don't OUR attorneys go down there and stress the impossibility of gaining asylum. "Sorry Jose', the odds of freebies are <1%."

Wouldn’t psy ops flyers be a good idea?

I’m sure they could be worded to get the point across without giving the dems ammunition.

But that’s invading a country’s air space.

I dont know. Just brainstorming :)

The closer this garbage gets to the border it's going it's to be every coackroach for themselves. The stronger, young males will break into groups or go singular and get in anyway they can. The younger women will do the same. The mothers and older men with kids will be in the deep sh!t as they either try and use the kids as props or dump them and run in for themselves. These people have no morals or integrity in their obsession to get in here. They have shown that in the past.

Having been kicked out of the United States five or six times is not a “legitimate claim.”

Lawyers who go to others countries and coach illegals on how to best invade the USA are nothing but traitors! In more sensible times lawyers like this would have been lined up and shot.

They may achieve the insane asylum if they think Trump
doesn’t mean what he says.

Everyone who want s to give them asylum should be forced to take a family in and support them.

Yes, have 1/2 of their salary and net worth confiscated to support a family of illegals. AND go to jail with them if they break the law in any way.

Domestic violence or gangs can never be considered a reason for asylum. How many women in the world would then make this claim? Domestic violence and gangs are law enforcement issues in their home country. They are not the US taxpayers problems.

And they’re the dangerous ones. They will do anything to anyone, even their own to get in here. I despise these people.

Legally they aren’t entitled to asylum.

However, they ask for it.

They’re young, so they can only be held 20 days.

After 20 days, they get out of detention and walk off free as birds in the USA.

In seven more weeks Democrats will gain the House and no defense budget money will be voted except upon their continued presence.

¡Es sencillo!

Trump says:

“you will not be admitted into the United States unless you go through the legal process”

Have your I-589s ready, por favor.

Lawyers for migrant caravan members give them stark advice: ‘It’s going to be difficult’

These typically P.I.T.A. ambulance chasers are giving the other 1% of the legal profession a bad name.

I have no sympathy for them. If energy and industriousness these people show and practice in every manner of criminality, almost all of it aimed at gaining entry into The United States were instead but to good and productive use in their own countries then their countries and their respective economies would rival Europe’s.

Sorry- IF they didn’t ask for or accept asylum in Mexico, they cannot get such in the USA.

International law says so, and these ‘legal advisors’ should know that.
