I believe if one combines the incumbent anti-Trumpers who lost their seats with the anti-Trumpers who retired and the open seat went to the Democrats, the Republicans would have barely kept a majority in the House.
The main result of the 2018 election is that Trump has more supporters in the House and Senate than he has had in the past 2 years.
far too many of the candidates deliberately distanced themselves from Trump’s hardline on the invasion force headed to our border, giving their Republican constituents no reason to vote for them. Then there were the 45 or so incumbents who decided to cut and run because they fell for the “blue wave” propaganda spewed by the media for the last year.
