In his first two years in office, President Donald Trump has moved to appoint dozens of conservative judges to the federal bench, moving faster than any president since at least Ronald Reagan.
On top of two Supreme Court justices, Trump has appointed 29 judges to U.S. appeals courts across the country, according to a Reuters tally. The appointments, Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell has said, are his "top priority."
Now, unleashed by a decisive Republican victory in the Senate in Tuesday's midterm elections, the president's ability to shape the ideological makeup of the federal judiciary has only increased.
To be sure, it's impossible to predict how a judge will rule simply based on the party they belong to, or the party of the president who appoints them. But an ideologically conservative federal bench could prove useful to the president as he pursues an agenda that has often ended up in the courts.

Gosh, its too bad that the dems did not do so well in the Senate elections this year. At least they can still filibuster Trumps AG nominee.
Oh wait, the last time that the dems controlled the Senate, Harry Reid unilaterally abolished the filibuster. Never mind.
Good!
Thank you God for a more GOP Senate!
Chuck-U can go suck wind.
With the House in Democrat hands, and the Senate in Republican hands, legislation will go nowhere. The only matters of importance which require legislative involvement that will move forward are court nominees and government officers requiring Senate confirmation. President Trump will therefore be free to get his nominees approved and accomplish his goals by executive order. Brilliant!!!!
That is why President Trump busted his ass so hard to keep the Senate(And expand it) just wait til Ginsberg has to retire, or croaks..it will be SO easy now to put in another seat on the Supreme Court
Nancy Pelosi will just LOVE this bit of news.
Stroke of the pen, law of the land. Cool.
It is always that negative “conservative” adjective when used by the leftist media. It should be replaced with “strict constitutionalists” or something similar. Don’t give them the power to frame the argument with a connotation of their approval.
And the Rats will get nothing through the now more conservative Senate.
They can bite Trump’s ankles but he’s gonna be kicking them hard, all the time.
It’s what he likes to do.
Too bad, Dems. As your once-famous Barama liked to say: "Elections have consequences."
Then it wouldn't matter if Dems were elected because their hands would be tied by the Constitution they way they should be.
Got me some serious schadenfreude goin' on over the serious angst this has gotta be causing in Leftard land :-))
Loading federal courts with conservative judges. Like thats a bad thing.
Yes. Still waiting for them to write about the “extreme left” or “hard left” or “radical left” or the “insane, lunatic fringe left.”
With a solid, snowflake proof senate, and a house he can fight without it looking like he’s fighting his own party, Trump can now take the gloves off. We’ve got your back, Mr. President!
Also too bad the Dems on the Judiciary Committee completely destroyed any semblance of good will over the past couple months. Grassley has been telling Feinstein to ESAD. Between Grassley and McConnell, nominees will sail through.
The House has given up it's legislative power long ago to Barack Obama with his executive orders bypassing Congress. Trump continues that policy.
The real power in Congress remains in the Senate, who confirms federal judges. Judges decide partisan cases. The more conservative judges Trump appoints and the Senate confirms, the more powerful the GOP will become.
Besides, everybody knows Trump won't take these threats from the liberals in the House lying down. He will go on offense and they will rue the day they tried to go after him.
And we all thought Trump's first two years were fun. The real fun hasn't even started.
Don’t forget the Wide Latina. She might well win the race to room temperature.
